Reform UK membership has risen significantly this year. The party did not yet have sufficient candidates to stand in the local elections. We did have some success where our candidates did stand. We have a candidate to stand in every constituency in the coming General Election.

It was never really very democratic... constitutional text states the purpose of the general election not as being anything to do with representation, but merely the means by which consent to being governed is attained... when you vote, you are agreeing that that is the system by which the next government shall be chosen. Voting actually generates consent for the outcome, and ignores the fact that your choices are pre-filtered to be only those that are considered acceptable by those who have control over the information system. In my lifetime (a little over half of yours) there hasn't been a single PM elected who wasn't the preferred choice of Rupert Murdoch, for example.

Er!! I was a paid up member of the Labour Party till the day Tony Blair taught me it was more important to go and fight Sadam Hussien then discuss the concerns of the workers in the UK!! Before Blair signed up to the war in Iraq, there was a meeting scheduled for the Party to discuss with the Trade Unions the policy of introducing what Blair called PPFI - public, private finance initiative, where services would be a mix of State finance with the Private sector!! Blair knew the Unions were strongly opposed to this initiative, and just as the meeting eas due to take place, 9/11 occurred in the US!! Suddenly, Blair, aware he would lose the vote to implement the initiative, told the Unions he was postponing the meeting, saying " guys - his favourite patronising phrase- " guys, I think we must be seen to be supporting the Americans, and I will arrange this meeting at another time!! Needless to say, the media, sold the Unions down the river, Blair quietly imposed the policy by buying pff some of the Union leaders, so now in UK we have a hodgepodge of a health service that costs the taxpayer billions, but stuffs the private sector most of that cash!! I learned how weak the Trade Unions had really become, when the then Health Secretary of the Party resigned his post and took up an advisory position with a large private firm, and not a murmur from a single Trade Union representative!! Today, the people get less and less services at greater cost of say vital prescriptions etc, all because it was more important - we were told- to " fight" tge " evil" Sadam!! No one in their right minds could ever believe Iraq could win a war against the UK on its own, much.less along with the Americans!! But Blair got mightily rich, and today is as a " spectre" that still haunts the Party as a whole, and time to time pops up with his advice over politics as a ghost that cannot be laid to rest!!!!
