I’m lucky enough to be a terminator cobra owner, and I agree the headlights suck, even with high beams it isn’t too great. The trim pieces that you mentioned carries over to the cobra too. I have an ac vent that just broke on me yesterday. My daily is an 02 gt and the windshield seal started leaking just like you said, and don’t even get me started about the seatbelts on both cars, been an absolute nightmare for me lol

I think a lot of those cons were a symptom of the times. Late 90s and early 2000s cars from a lot of manufacturers had similar issues.

+1. Especially the interior. I love mine, but a lot of the money I've spent rebuilding it has gone into interior. The leather rips like crazy on the seats, too. Finding an affordable set of seats or upholstery refit kits is a pain.

I bought my 04 mustang GT automatic dark shadow gray in 2014 5,500 cash and been happily driving it daily and have saved a bunch of money and no matter what goes wrong with it I will fix it and keep riding it and keep saving may of 2020 I found a 2014 Mustang GT sterling gray and a 6 speed transmission and bought it to and I enjoy both cars and some time it’s a hard choice for what I want to drive from day to day

Also good luck finding a new OEM oil dipstick, I have a 99 GT and the dipstick is broke, and I’ve contacted multiple Ford dealerships to price the dipstick and every single one told me the part was obsolete. I’m also struggling to find a new one online, good thing I’m completely fine with pulling a dipstick out of a salvage yard.

Actually the 02 GTs had intake manifold issues too, the 02 GT I had a few years ago had a little nipple that hose went onto on the intake manifold that broke off, and the only fix was to replace the whole intake manifold. Another thing I can think of that you missed, the plastic hood cowl vents tend to crack.

10+ years ago I had a 01 GT. The same thing happened. I noticed on the intake manifolds "last few words" it was struggling to start. I thought it was the battery. It had to be towed and I was ripped off by a local repair shop but they did replace the whole manifold. Other than that I didn't have any major mechanical issues.

I did bust a intake on my 1996 Thunderbird! I have never blew a spark plug in the Mustang, I did in my 2000 Expedition Patrol Vehicle. Ford Racing "C" Springs bring the ride height down. My 2000 is one of 94 with the "FR 500" Concept Car 2 tone Interior with Real Leather, high side bolsters, large headrest and Mustang Horse stitched in below the "Ford Racing" emblem.

The last 2 owners though didn't really take care of it but only put 27k miles on her. I needed new exhaust manifold, wheel bearing, power steering is starting to whine, clutch needs to be replaced. Other than that it looks very good for its age, only door panel that needed clips, air vents replacing and they bumped something In front but nothing you can tell unless you get real close. So far put in another 2k in her and she's almost like new. I want to make sure that car is preserved because its one of the best looking cars of all time! And the V6 is great for gas, reliability and you can daily drive it.
