Bachmann's desire to give back to his hometown community is at the heart of founding the Louisville International Film Festival. The annual festival attracts hundreds of films worldwide each year, & the proceeds help fund film studies in the Louisville community.
Bachmann's impressive career spans film, theatre, & television. Beginning over forty years ago with an appearance on the "Dobie Gillis" series, he is known on television for recurring roles in "West Wing" (treasure secretary) & "General Hospital" (Judge Lawrence), among others. He has also worked with industry greats in the film - including Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Kingsley, Samuel L. Jackson, & Jack Palance. Co-starring in "Portrait of a Killer" with Jack Palance & Rod Steiger was a highlight of his career.
Conrad Bachmann is an American actor born on November 26, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky. Since then, Bachmann has had a prolific career, appearing in hundreds of episodes, over four hundred commercials, twenty feature films, and numerous stage productions.
Bachmann's work spans various genres, including drama, crime, and action. He is known for his roles in several notable films and television shows. Some of his most recognized works include "Tremors," "The Astronaut's Wife," "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," "Outbreak," "Foxy Brown," "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World," "Pursuit," and "Mr. Murder."
Throughout his career, Bachmann has portrayed a wide range of characters. His acting credits include roles in "Bait Pro" as Mr. Byrd (2023), "Roach Motel" as Roy (2023), "The Wedding Pact 2: The Baby Pact" as Stan Jones (2021), "Dear White People" as Marty (2017), and "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World" as Ben Wallerstein (2006). He also appeared in "Heart of the Beholder" (2005), "The Astronaut's Wife" (1999), "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" (1998), "Mr. Murder" (1998), "The Chosen One: Legend of the Raven" (1998), "The Visitor" (1997), "Outbreak" (1995), and "Tremors" (1990) among many other productions. Additionally, he had a role in the popular TV series "Murder, She Wrote" in 1985.
His longevity and diversity in acting roles across film and television highlight his versatility and dedication to acting.
