Conny Michelle Vang was born and raised in Kirkenes. In the early 90s, she moved to Oslo and eventually started gender confirmation treatment. During the years she lived in the capital, she was part of the Virus Group, which worked on prevention regarding the HIV virus. In 1998, she moved back to East Finnmark and Kirkenes.
