The writing is so awful. Evil Within had an incredibly stupid story but this just takes it to unexplored level of stupid.

This is like "so bad it's good" resident evil dialogue, mildly mass effect andromeda faces. Once in the dream it's even better. The post-it notes on trees crack me up.

I read they updated the animations since this video. Supposedly looks much better synced with the voices.

Everytime they say "Mind-space" I hear "MYspace" so I keep picturing thos dude going into some obsolete out of date social media platform.

I had an uncle who built a small chair out of AOL trial disks. The sheer number of them was astonishing.

Deadly premonition. The observer. This is tickling me in all the right places. I love all the logical solutions to illogical game situations. Everything just fits with this one!

Throat is cleared . What a beautiful reading of that poem..

Well needing to enter the mind of a psychopath to try and find answers to stop a world ending event, sounds a bit more believable compared to The Evil Within's lets make a new utopian world with the brain of a psychopath.

Methinks MOBIUS had a morbid curiosity for what the mind could do, using Ruvik as an insanely bad standard. Going from that, they could work backwards and slowly pick out the perfect, clear-minded candidate. Overall, it's two different plot-points with a lot of potential to be interesting. Seems like Connections is already nudging at the fact that the MC and Kane have similar mindsets.

Not sure if you watch anime - but there is an anime called ID: Invaded. This game has a LOT of similar ideas and themes. The anime follows a renowned detective tasked with diving (similarly like this, digitally) into the ID Wells (aka 'mind spaces') of serial killers to solve cases/murders. But I can also seethe Evil Within vibes too.

So an anime copied The Evil Within, too. Some are inspired, some lift with prejudice. It's not that novel a concept in truth as there was The Cell in 2000.

That looks like a high budget indie game. I think it will be a very soild action game. Liked the story, it's like “Inside Out“ went rough and need painkillers, and RE mechanics. Definitely like to see you playing a full game.

I thought maybe it was just his body decayed. But then again they said he was shot dead 5 years prior. Would he look meaty and bloody after 5 years of decomp? Not sure 🤔 lol

@@mandivvy Can't be decomposition. His brain is still intact, and he's kept in a tank for preservation. Now, I didn't go to school, so someone can correct me on this, but I feel like organs and meaty bits would decay well before the skin falls completely off and leaves a fully muscular skeleton behind. Decay starts from within and works its way out, no?

@@user-gu9yq5sj7c I think the more likely answer is they just grabbed a pre-made corpse asset rather than building a model from scratch for a dead character they didn't see a need to show for more than a handful of seconds anyways. Saves time, the player can clearly see he's very much dead and the point gets across. Understandable for an indie dev.

I usually hate demo's but this was really good. Really got into it! They made it long enough to get invested and want to play more for a change. Really hope this one actually makes it. Loved watching you play man.

Deadly Premonition and Evil Within were some of my favs so this isnt too bad. Definitely good for a small team.

Hah I saw that one as a kid. Still thinking back on it sometimes... that horse scene is carved into my memory. Too bad none of the streaming services seem to have it. I wanted to see it again couple of years back but couldn't find anywhere.

This was brilliant, old school classic survival horror. Great work from the Devs.

The "Have you ever heard of... entering the Mind-Space?" scene at the beginning was super goofy 😂 This was a lot of fun! Absolutely wanna see you play this whole game when it comes out!

I cannot wait until this game hits the channel, everyone better hit the crap outta that like button. This is such a refreshing horror game.

Really enjoyed this, don't often go for these surreal scenarios and couldn't get on with Deadly Premonition despite liking parts of it so this surprised me. Looking forward to the full game

@@guhrizzlybaire Squaresoft no longer exists, Square-Enix killed it with 3rd Birthday. It matters who makes a game and not just a game comes back because it will not be the same thing, especially years later.

I kept thinking the main character reminded me of someone. And then I realised he looks like a high resolution version of Chad wojak.

Title screen is amazing. I'm sold.

Love when the detective says "mind space" the FBI agents look at eachother like "Did he say MY space?" Lol

Love it. Plays with the 90's cop and sci-fi clichés tongue in cheek. Voice acting kind of reminds me of FEAR or the Condemned classics. Great voice work for an indie title. An ideal game for me to just escape into. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

It's like a Redfieldean Alan Wake : The Deadly Premonition Within

I’d love to see where this one goes! While the theme of exploring another person’s mind or memories isn’t new, I want to see where the devs take the story. Also the run of emotions on my face when you could punch the head off of an enemy! Mr Detective is already well “armed”, I see!

I have no idea what we’ve done to deserve so many RE inspired games as of late, but I’m in no way complaining.

This is a long one for a demo! Great game and great playthrough as always

At the church with two more agent's dead the game is giving me the vibe that once you go in it is very hard to get out and that is the part they left out due to losing so many of their people that lost connections.

Honestly I was very surprised by the quality of the demo and the visuals in particular, it's really good !! Also the seamless camera switch is great for people with motion sickness or who just prefer a different type of camera angle. I enjoyed the story and how they introduced us to the mind space. It might seem a bit silly but kinda logical ? 😂 I think I've seen too many horror games and movies with worse explanations for what's going on. I can't wait to see a full game, it's very promising, especially for a small indie team.

This game is to Evil Within what Daymare 1998 was to Resident Evil. 😏 That said it's pretty good, especially for an 0.5 version of an indie game. Shows plenty of actual effort, thought and promise. Looking forward to the full version.

The office at the start reminded me of the one at the start of the game 'Call of Cthulhu'. The voice audio for me was a little low compared to the over all volume and the subs blended way to much with the background to be clearly visible. The over all look of the game and the story seems really well put together and what a generous length demo! I can't wait for the whole thing to become available.

I really liked this. Cool concept and really well done. I hope they don't leave it all the same when they release the full game. The dryer got me every time.

Five minutes in and already getting very Evil Within vibes. TO be honest, I did confuse The Nightmare Within with The Evil Within at first, so I guess I could have concluded that from just the title. That said, this definitely seems to be a pretty impressive game.

This looks very cool and I love the premise of the mind space and getting to explore it. It reminds me of the movie The Cell.

This is just Great Value “The Cell” but a video game and without the avant-garde artsy weirdness.

Hmm, reminds me of The Medium! Love these kinds of premises.

Similarities to Resident Evil are colored vials (herbs in RE), the church (mansion in RE), finding keys to unlock doors, etc., it's still an interesting game. Sort like a different version of RE, which is okay by me. Unfortunately, no Merchant. "Ha ha ha! Welcome, Stranger! What're ya buyin'?"
