Awesome stream. Learned lots. Thank you. Perhaps you can do a stream with the rodecaster pro and something like dbx286s and or PreSonus Studio Channel Tube Mic Pre/Compressor/EQ. Reason.. maybe you want to have more hardware control on the Audio effects then on the RPC.

Great! Very useful! Thanks a lot!!! I have a Steinberg UR12 (one mic and one line input) and I had to borrow an interface with 2 line inputs to record our band rehearsals in stereo (I record a different mix from the one that comes out of the speakers, panning instruments). The interface I borrowed was a Scarlett 2i4 which has a pad button that attenuates line signal by - 10dbu. I’m looking forward to buy an interface with 2 line inputs but the ones I have in mind (UR22 and Scarlett 2i2) do not have the pad button. Do you now if they will be suitable for recording full band from the mixer or may I get clipping? Thanks again and greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷 !!!

I have a Behringer XR12 audio mixer where I have set up my mics . I have mics on inputs 1-4, 7 and 8. As I was setting them up, I was monitoring the volume control through the headphone jack and able to control the volume with the fader on each channel. It seems that everything was working great. I have the mics bussed out to BUS 1 and 2 in order to connect the Aux outputs to a Scarlett Focusrite Solo audio device. As I was monitoring the audio output of the Scarlett solo I was trying to change the volume (increase and decrease it) using the fader on the mic channel but noticed that the volume would not change. I even tried muting the channel but the audio was still going through and I was able to hear the audio from the mics. Can you help me to determine if there is a setting that I am missing?

Just to make sure I got this correct, you can only record what is coming into the line input in mono? So if I was to record a DJ set, synth, drum machine, the mixer output (as shown in this video), basically anything going into the line input on the Scarlett Solo, it will be recorded in mono. I just canceled my Solo purchase, gotta have stereo inputs when recording. I don't sing, do podcast, or play guitar, so I don't think I would get much use from a Solo.

My mixer is 15 watts so my best mic won't power up , I've hooked up a 48v box to mic and mixer then to the Solo gen3 and it's good, and also out of fear I turned on the 48v on the focus right Solo gen3 all together and I think it sounds good. Question will this damage my equipment in the long run?

Hi, yes you can, but if you use plug-in-powered wireless mics like Röde Wireless Go mics at the same time with any phantom powered ones, you have to get VXLR+ or VXLR Pro adapters that can turn that 48V to 5V, or you have to have a mixer that can turn 48V on/off per channel. If you only use plugin-powered mics, you can leave phantom power off, and use normal VXLR adapters.

That is kind of the point I personally recommend the 2i2 and sending a stereo channel from the mixer to the interface, but, whatever your board can handle can be used with a balanced out mono and recorded in mono, or software manipulated into stereo but it's a pain. Personally Shure SM7 cloud lifted into the scarlet then use the line level to a mixer for instruments recorded in mono, 2i2 allows everything to be done in stereo as stated

Yeah it’s weird for some reason Discord won’t pick up mic feed but Windows 10 built in voice recorder will. Anyway here’s what I did to resolve it for myself. Have either a XLR cable / 1/4”(TS or TRS) to XLR (Male) cable for your mic output from the mixer into the mic in on the Scarlett solo. Adjust the gain on the Scarlett Solo without phantom power. In Windows select the Scarlett Solo as default recording device and Discord should pick up your mic now.

Discord web site had an announcement recently for mac users that usb-connected audio interfaces, mixers or other external sound cards are not supported. I had an issue with Win7 and Win10 as well where my input was extremely low when using usb-connected Yamaha MG10XU with Röde NT1. I removed the USB, and plugged my Yamaha MG10XU from line level outputs with a y-cable (2x 6,3mm TRS to 3,5mm TRS) straight to my internal Sound Blaster line in input, and set the Sound Blaster port as line level instead of mic level (from SB Command software). Discord works now ok.
