Friends… lend me your ears. All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. From now on, people will expect you to walk the different stages of life with success and master all roles they shall give you with pride and glory. School has ended and teachers have lost their influences on you, but beware… there shall be great expectations and even bigger shoes to fill in this Brave New World.
Whatever happens… do not forget: To thine own self be true.
Do not forget your dreams, passions and wishes because that is what life is all about!
Pursue happiness and not just riches since also the fortune’s fool who is only an ambitious slave to career and cash will learn someday that such a fool’s life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more: It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Yes, it is true what they say…nothing will come of nothing and yes… the clothes make the man but mind that all that glitters is not gold. Jealousy is the green-eyed monster and vaulting ambition which overleaps itself can easily guide you to follow black and deep desires leading to lonely islands in a sea of troubles.
So beware of weird sisters telling you that fair is foul and foul is fair leading you into despair with their false promises and their wicked prophecies.
When you find out something is rotten in the state of Denmark… or in any other state, remember there are more things in heaven and hell than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
Talk is cheap and words, words, words are easily spoken but much harder followed by good actions.
Judge people only by what they do but not by what they say and certainly not by their noble names because what’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
Make sure that you always suit the action to the word and the word to the action for it is not enough to speak, but to speak true and to do true.
Give every man thy ear but few thy voice. Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind. Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none because remember what’s done cannot be undone.
I wish you a life guided by love and friendship. Life and love will not always be a bed of roses or a pleasure cruise for the course of true love did never run smooth and the fault is not in the stars but in ourselves.
So, keep thyself a humorous heart, a sweet soul, a merry mind and a wise wit. Make sure that your bounty is a boundless as the sea and your love as deep. The more you give to the world, the more you will have for both are infinite.
Remember: Good company, good wine, good welcome can make good people.
Now, let us come to the final words since brevity is the soul of wit and men of few words are the best men.
I hope you will take a pile of good memories from your schooldays with you and that they will outweigh the hardships you had to endure once in a while.
