Thank you so much. I appreciate the clarity and simplicity of your videos. They are very easy to understand. My mother has CHF and has been in the ER every few months due to fluid in the lungs. She's supposed to only have a small amount of fluid every day which has been hard for her to maintain, despite the small pitcher she was given. Old habits are hard to break so I'm searching around for anything that may help her

I just came across your channel. I love your videos! Why do I have nearly all these symptoms yet, doctors keep telling me my heart is normal. I have severe gerd and crackling in my lungs; most other symptoms too. I can barely walk a flight of stairs. Only thing that helps is Flovent and combivent. My area is notorious for doctors in denial or, doctors who do not dig deep. My mom was told she did not have Parkinson’s. A few years from then, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in Boston, Ma. She passed away in 2018. Why do doctors not listen to their patients with true care?

Hello. I have a PFO and have CAD. I had a cardiac cath done and it showed that i have small coronary vessels on the right side and i am missing them on the left side. My EF has dropped down to 45. After my last visit to my cardiologist he said i have some extra beats. Only meds i am on are vaso dilators and nitro. I wake up at least 5 times a night and i am on CPAP therapy but still wake up. I swell a lot and seldom have to use the bathroom. Question is could a PFO also contribute to symptoms of CHF

1:04 I managed to talk chatgpt into believing that the ‘fluid backlog’ story of congestive hf is bs. Basically low cardiac output means lower pressure throughout, which means arterial side around capillaries results in less fluid pushed into interstitial tissue, while lower pressure at the venous side means even more reabsorption of fluid from the albumin osmotic pressure. Only the kidneys could result in edema because too little perfusion to filter, but that would be end stage hf and much more likely in ckd. 3:25 the gallop sound also seems to be a total myth perpetuated by practitioners. It is neither predictive nor pathological. Mechanism of Physiologic and Pathologic S3 Gallop Sounds, 1992: “The same sound is often found in young healthy individuals,” “We conclude that both the “pathologic” and “physiologic” S3 are related to abnormally rapid deceleration of early diastolic left ventricular inflow.” The Accuracy and Interobserver Agreement in Detecting the ‘Gallop Sounds’ by Cardiac Auscultation, 1998: “The overall interobserver agreement for the detection of either S4 or S3 was little better than chance alone.” 3:40 hepatomegaly due to ‘pooling of bood’ is probably a myth too, as there are dozens of reasons why the liver could expand, not least fatty liver disease, and only in ‘some cases’ of hf. 7:02 I’m not sure why you would make the assumption that the body’s own diuretic, BNP, is not working by default to prevent fluid overload? I find it perplexing that on the one hand, high levels of BNP are used to diagnose heart failure, but like high doses of a drug it should be also more effective at preventing fluid overload. Which again seems to leave the ball with kidney failure, or drug induced edema as with ace inhibitors. Btw the fact that drugs lower BNP and therefore are believed to stabilize hf simply comes from the drugs slowing the heart down instead of the BNP doing the same job (ie no feedback signal anymore), so it’s just swapping out BNP for Pharma with side effects. beta blockers prevent the heart from getting worked up. Maybe that’s a net positive I don’t know, in today’s world we probably don’t need adrenalin rushes to respond to tigers. Ace inhibitors can retain muscle mass. Apart from that there are the usual endless list of side effects and drug interactions though. Diuretics just seem dangerous.
