@@videogazer801 - if you say so, but you know that’s not the case. They’re all similar for sure but there’s a difference in all of them. Just because everyone else uses all those terms to speak about American Bulldogs doesn’t mean it’s right. They’re just regurgitating what they e heard. Do some research and come back and we will talk. Go ask some White English Bulldog people if their dogs are American Bulldogs and see what kind of response you get.

Thank you for the information. A couple of months ago, what I now know is an American Bulldog, started coming to my place. Later, what I think to be his full brother, also came to visit. One is black and white, the other one looks like Neeland. They would come and go. Both have had their ears cropped and have on matching collars. The black on stayed one time for three days, I was hoping he would stay, but he left and I have never seen him again. The Black and White started staying longer than he was gone, but he has been here now for five days and has even claimed/taken over one of the dog houses. I think he's decided to stay! I really hope so!! He's a FINE dog. I think he was on a chain, the ring on his collar is worn, the same with his brother's. I also think they were turned loose and abandoned. Anyway, not knowing if he belonged to someone, I didn't try and force him to stay, but it seems he's made his choice to live here. He made a great choice with 10 acres to roam with his new pals, all of whom act like he's always been with us.

I’ve had the most amazing American bulldog. Truly the most misaligned creature ever. But the do look like a Staffordshire bull dog (English breed) and British boxer cross. Also lovely dogs. Would I have another abs? In a heart beat. Saved my partner’s life 3 times and and elderly lady too. Never a dull or sad day with her RIP Katie ❤

Back in the 50's/60's in S.C. What we called ole Logger headed Bulldogs or the Farmer's bulldog. Were mostly of English Bulldog and American Pit Bull crosses. Some even used or added Boxer Bull crosses as well. These dogs weighed up to around 70 to 90 pounds. Some were all-white or mixed white and brindle patches etc. I knew a man many years back that had an all-white Bulldog that weighed around 100 pounds. He said came from the Caribbeans. A real tough and monster bulldog is a APBT crossed to a Great Dane. I saw one that was around 125 pounds. This monster dog was used on a hot July day to game test the famous S.C. Bass' Red Boy American pit bull terrier.

Bulldogs, weed, anything where opinion can play a major role "in facts" is often infiltrated by people repeating things that they've heard from other people, it eventually gets turned into everyone's understanding, until people like us come around and start really asking questions

Can’t agree more about the ideal size… 60-75 lbs is a great size… I feel like they are just generally more healthy too especially as they age… if your using them for hunting hogs I def can’t see how anyone would want an oversized dog… they won’t have the stamina or agility needed…

The pup I got from you is 52 pounds at 8 months old she seems to be a little taller and fast as they come. About 40% brindle and 58% white 2% black dots. Everywhere we take her everyone loves this dog and says she's beautiful. My last american bulldog was 95 pounds and around 10 to 12 that weight is tough on those joints. That's why I found your kennel. I'm pretty sure she will max out at 55 to 60 which is perfect size for us.

Howard Heinzl was told by the old timers of his day. That black was not a Bulldog color. It was F.G. Henrey that introduced the black English strain of pit bull terriers. Earl Tudor liked them and was his more favorite strain. The Tudor Dibo and its siblings carry a lot of the F.G. Henery strain. The Colby line carried a white and patch colors.

I always wondered where the color black come from. Even before the Tudor dogs, all of the historical paintings and what not I’ve never seen any black dogs that I recall. I’m starting to believe that two brindles bred together long enough can create black dogs.

interesting video buddy.. i see your point about the white not being able to be in the field as much. i have also read the 75% white base in american bulldogs so im still learning myself as the boy i have now is my 1st american bulldog type ive owned and researching to catch up as much as possible... i have the only white from the litter and i hae no paperwork so i will 100% be getting a DNA test for my dog.. he is a white dog very similar in muscle mass to a dogo argentino BUT when i got him at 3 months old i was told from a family member that got him at 8 weeks old pup, that he was AMbull cross mastiff or OLD ENGLISH is what we call them..i believe he is scott type cross maybe old english or mastiff. this was argued beween 2 owners of 2 dogs from the same litter and they both saw the parents but i didnt..now looking into what my dogs size and traits seem to be i believe he could be scott type/ classic cross dogo argentio.. i think this because of his colour size and prey drive.he is shorter than a dogo but has the figure and extremely athletic clever and prey driven. his brothers all have golden brow large spots on the head with thicker bones and built heavier ..my boy is actually 75.3lbs 11month and 2 weeks old.. he is all i need and thats all that counts right.very protective instinctively and yet nice as pie also..the more i see him the more i think maybe not dogo mix but its his colour and prey drive that got me spooked originally on this because i have looked into this cross between AMbull and dogo and he fits the bill in every way possible which excites and worries me as dogos are banned in the UK unfortunately.... you said you have an insta? have you got a link or name for that buddy and ill follow.i have pics and videos on my own if interested..you can see one of mines brothers on there to and you can clearly see the difference. opinions on my boys breed welcom but i really do need the DNA test to be as close as i can be to what breed he exactly is.. his brothers do look more mastiff but i know dogos have old english, mastiff and others hense why i suspect the previous owners to be right in a way but tthey havent got the white dog i have and he is fearless too....truelly great dogs these american type bulldogs.i think both scott and johnson have done a great job in keeping this breed type going and personally i prefere the lighter more capable scott types mysef.. my insta name is gaz bugz if interested. i just want to learn as much as possible and opinions come into this aswell like you said..👍 all bulldogs are cool dogs in my book and definately not for 1st time dog owners, thats for sure.

My 100+ - 120 lbs. dogs can go longer than him. I think it depends on how they're built. I've found that muzzle length & build probably has something to do with it.

Back in the day they wouldn't have called them OSW or White English, they would have just called them bulldogs. Of course, back in the post civil war south they would be the only dog by that name. Nowadays you have to make new names so people will know what you're talking about. The White English are more mastiff home guardian than bulldog hunter or herder, so they tend to be larger than the OSW which are classic bulldogs.

I agree with a lot you said however, depending on the area you were in, some White English dogs were smaller Bulldog types. This is information I’ve received from a friend of mine whose family has had these dogs for over 100 years in southern Georgia and northern Florida. I do believe that some White English dogs were more mastiff types dogs as well though. He told me that he would only ever speak to his experience with these dogs and to his family his dogs were White English Bulldogs and they might’ve been 70lbs at the biggest for the males. OSW for sure came in much later as far as name goes from the people I’ve talked to. Actually the White English owners would despise the OSW in some areas because they weren’t the same dogs to them.
