It's unfortunate the guy didn't get to hear the answers he said he was looking for. Got too caught up in the way the sentences started. I believe the brother was trying to get to the point that those things that match between the Quran and what they call the Torah is what is confirmed. And what doesn't match is what was distorted. What wasn't talked about is not necessary for our hearafter. He is worried about losing everything from his past, but you don't really. Some things are adjusted. The Sabbath would change, and the direction of prayer would change. While these are significant they don't take away from the history. Maybe some parts of the recorded history are wrong. Think. Whatever reason you give for believing in the Bible the Quran has more reason to be accepted. We know the source, we have preserved orally, in writing and practice. And whatever reason or argument you try to present to reject the Quran then the Bible has more reason to be rejected And the same for whatever messenger you accept.

Therefore (Fa) announce to him (Bas'shir'hu) of (Bi) a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabin). ﴾ ٩ ﴿ وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا شَیۡـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًاۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ مُّهِینࣱ ﴾ 9 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Izaa) he learns (Älima) something (Shai'an) from (Min’) Our verses (Aayaati-naa), he takes them (Ettakhaza-ha) in mockery (Huzuwan). Those (U'laaika) will have (Lahum) a humiliating (Muhiin) punishment (Äzaabun).

Respond the to the five ayaah from the Quran clearly stating that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم explain the Quran, all the messengers have to be obeyed and that the believers have to take the prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as a judge. As well please name scholars in the history of Islam who didn’t accept the sunnah the ahadith.

Allah clearly stated the messenger muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم was sent to explain the Quran 44. With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad ) the reminder and the advice (the Qur’an), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought Quran 16:44 And Allah made following the messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم a condition and a test to show that a person loves Allah. 31. Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” 32. Say (O Muhammad ): “Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ).” But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers. Quran 3:31-32 That is why those who claim to reject the sunnah have in fact rejected the Quran

The Torah you have today can not be traced back to Moses. It contains internal contradictions for example. And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. Genesis 35:10 Then later And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. Genesis 46:2 This can not be from the All mighty and from Moses. Genesis 35 clearly states that Jacob’s name was changed to Israel and he will not be called by that name again. Then in Genesis 46 he is called by the name Jacob.

The oldest incomplete Torah manuscripts you have is from the Dead Sea scrolls which is at least a thousand years after Moses
