Confederate Destruction! The Burning Of The Columbia Wrightsville Bridge
By June 28, 1863 Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army had fully invaded the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In an effort to expand their attack, Confederate forces under the command of John B. Gordon attempted to cross the Susquehanna River at Wrightsville. Fighting ensued, and the nation's longest covered bridge was completely destroyed as a result.

Excellent video! I learned many thing about the Gettysburg campaign that I didn't know about and so many books and historians gloss over. Thank you for filling in a lot of gaps.
Kind of a deceptive title given that the Union volunteers actually burned the bridge and Confederate soldiers helped put the fire out when it spread into town.
