The work of conductors is to transfer power form one end to another end there are some metals which have high conductivity like gold and silver but they are very much expansive so it is impractical to use them in high power transmission, we have only two choice i.e. copper and aluminium out of this aluminium is mostly preferred because it is price competitive, high corrosion resistant, good conductivity, high corrosion resistant and light weight. there are many types of aluminum conductors available;
1) AAC - All Aluminium Conductor
2) AAAC - All Aluminium Alloy Conductor
3) ACSR - Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforce
4) ACSS - Aluminium Conductor Steel Supported
5) ACCR - Aluminium Composit Core Reinforced
6) ACCC - Aluminium Carbon Composit Core
these above choices are used extensively are used form power transmission to distribution at many places, out of these solid and hollow aluminium conductors are used in substation bus for space management and to get better accessibility however solid and hollow conductors are use in low and medium size substation bus. when bus size is large aac conductor is used
people also ask;
Why stranded conductors are used in transmission lines?
Which conductors are used for distribution lines?
What are the different types of conductors?
Which conductor is used in 11kV line?
conductor types and sizes
acsr conductor types and sizes
What is ACSR conductor & type?
What are the different types of conductors?
What is the difference between ACSR and AAAC?
How many types of conductors are used for overhead lines?
What is ACSR Dog Conductor?
What is Zebra conductor?
transmission line conductors
distribution line conductor

    ACSS,ACCR and ACCC conductor are also know as high temparature low sag Conductor (HTLS) having good tensile strenght,Less DC resistance,More AMPACITY. these conductor carries Double power As campare to Convetional ACSR and AAAC conductor

    But the main disadvantage is that it produces power loss as the ambient temperature rises which increases the resistance and hence power loss.
