My goalie partner got 2 concussions in a vaughn bucket, ever since then we both switched, I went to a Bauer NME10 and he went to a Wall mask. Never going back, that Bauer mask has saved my life too many times.

Genuine question with 4 major concussions was that consecutively or spaced over years of play or your entire life? Also was it like the doctor saying it can go nad if you keep getting them or do you have brain damage or damage from that

5:05 and 8:21. As someone who has lingering affects I was yelling "Get him off the ice...." I understand it is Beer League and theres no back up goaltender. BUT you HAVE to recognize symptoms and go through protocol. Off Ice. EVERY adult hockey player and every hockey coach needs to take the USA HOCKEY concussion protocol training course. Or at the very least learn THE SIGNS of concussions on your own to help protect all players of all sports. Everyones symptoms can be different. Err on the side of caution. Thank you BLB.

Wow ! That was square on the melon . I hope the guy had a good mask . Not good . Plus seemed like his straps were loose from the mask flying off . I know it looks cool when you can just flip your head back and the mask goes up for a quick sip of water but that doesn't keep the mask on your head well when that happens . Wish him a quick recovery.

Michael Pacini if it hits anywhere near the chin it pops the straps on the sides off and the helmet comes lose and his backward motion threw it off, when u lift your mast for a drink it doesn’t loosen its elastic so just pulls tight again when lowered

that goalie did not fit his helmet properly. the shot didn't look that hard and no mask should fly off your head like this. it sucks he got concussed, but it's his own fault

Alex B happened to me yesterday in a training, warning up coach takes a wrist at me not hard but hit me in the chin popped the straps and helmet drops off, admittedly my head didn’t fly back like his etc and I didn’t feel it but my helmet is fitted correctly

@@rivefall6845 I've played in net for 17+ years, and taken my fair share of pucks to the mask. At most I've had ringing in 1 ear for about 10 mins, but have never had my mask knocked off. Itech mask (which come to think of it is likely out of its corporate mandated 'lifetime') with properly tightened chin strap and halfway decent snaps on the sides.

Big defenseman on my team pushed a massive forward driving the net right into me in an acha game. The kid cross checked me directly in the head as he hit me, my back helmet flew off and landed 10 feet away and I wear mine tight. Head was throbbing and I started to see blurs in my vision a few minutes after, good thing the puck was in the other zone for a that or I would not have been able to see it haha

That sucks . As a goalie let me tell you they are not pleasant at all . I know it's a regulation game but whenever I was the only goalie in practice we just did 3V3 half ice with one goalie . It's not the best way but it's more fair to the other team

Hope he’s okay. I know 1st hand what it’s like I’ve had a long history of concussions I suffer from post concussion syndrome from playing hockey and football when I was younger.

I had a few concussions. Worst one I had got hit from behind, went to the bench sat down and thought I was playing nhl 93.

Welp I had a mild concussion so I know how it feel but I don’t know how a regular one is so I hope he’s ok

I know a goalie who got a concussion from running into someone during a 60 second drill.

it looked so innocent.. but honestly its no joke, i've been in goal for 10 year in youth leagues.. to me it happened only once that I got headshotted and passed but often i got hit and it was ringing in my ears or i was a bit like dizzy for the next few minutes.. hope he is fine!

just imagine retro goalies on the same play.... even before Jason mask... with no mask!

I had a concussion 15 years old. Hit to back and straight to wall head first. I was blackedout 20-30 seconds and woke up when trainer was talking to me. 2 days after i went training becouse i wanted so hard. 4 years later i wouldnt go after 2 weeks of rest or no one wouldnt let me go.

Look up Pickwick ice arena. Its in beautiful downtown Burbank CA. Television City. These guys are good. And it looks like a checking beer league. Be safe my hockey friend. Its heads up hockey....

I have had two concussions and I’m 11 yrs old

First

Unless he had street hockey mask for kids to play on street.. he would not get an concussion from that little snapshot .. it was just lazy half of an wrist shot.. To be honest .. it will stun you for few seconds when you get hit in the head, but should be just fine after minute of break. Dont know if he had some attitude problems or what.. but that looks like bitching and whining for nothing. About 20 ish years ago i went dark for few second after being hit in the head , but that helmet was just for show anyway and not offering any real protection.. you know those Jofa's that 99 and 17 used to use back in the Oilers era. Went lights out second time after being tripped from full speed so i was on my knees sliding across the ice and straight on defense man who was skating backwards towards me quite fast. So we had kind of head on collision where my head met his backside and around 240lbs of weight compared to mine 160 ish .. but even then it was total darkness for few seconds , and the confusion afterwards was around 30 ish seconds from what i heard … funny thing.. i got penalty for that … referee thought that i tripped the defense man as he did not see anything that happened before the collision. But on both of those cases .. i missed only few line changes at max , before i was back in the game.. Only once i had to leave before the end horn blows… and that was with 2 broken ribs after being crosschecked against the board.. so boarding + crosschecking under the gear.. that was only time i left the game before it ends.. but even then i came back to shake hands with opposing team at end of the game, tho i had taken my gear off at that point. Missed two games due not given permission to play ( something to do with insurance … ) .. But after all that , i can say.. you will feel the broken ribs for long time , even if you deny it in order to get permission to play.. After watching this video.. it makes me kind of sad.. there is no fire , no desire … little knock and people give up.. waste of other peoples time who count on you to do your part and most likely even pay for the time on that rink.. either im out of this time and era .. or something sad has happened to current era of players. Ye i understand this is the game at its lowest level and commitment rating, but it is still game you are trying to play and your buddies count on you and need you.. In my mind there is only 2 ways of doing things… either you give it all you got , what ever it takes… or you dont bother doing it at all. half measures are only for loosers … for those who are not strong enough mentally .. any one can train to be strong and fast all the way to quite an high level , but it takes mental toughness to achieve and that is only the beginning.
