    Here in Houston,TX is free to dump and if you open an account they pay you by the load. People charge $1 a sqft if its 1,000 and up. I have a Bobcat MT-100 and I do patios & garages. I charge double because the big machines dont fit and I do,so thats my specialty. Keep posting videos 👍🏼

    Absolutely “THE BEST CONCRETE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO” on KZread 👏‼️ I appreciate your transparency on how concrete works , from why is cracks, the purpose of rebar, the purpose of mesh, how concrete is strategically removed and the cost. I’m so glad you posted this video! Why you might ask? Well I’m currently have a concrete walkway installed and I’m trying to get a better understanding why rebar and mesh is important. One of my other questions that I have is, what is the importance of making sure the soil is compact before the concrete is poured? My last question is this...do you recommend compacted crushed stone sub-grade, under the slab? This part of the country has very sandy soil. Thank you Jason for uploading this video. I’m a subscriber 🙂.

    Question, would this have been as simple a job if the installer had pulled the wire mesh up into the concrete like he should have instead of leaving it lay on the ground as most do. I am estimating $1750 total with $640 disposal (including trucking). Thanks for posting this, really enjoyed the video.

    There's benefits to both. I say fiberglass rebar can be better then steel rebar. It doesn't rust and the fiberglass rebar doesn't expand causing concrete to crack or pop. Steel is definitely stronger, but I would say for a driveway you'd be fine with fiberglass. That's my opinion today. It may change in the future when I've had more experience with it.

    @@gabrieljimenez2922 I have a farm that I have to replace old concrete on every few years as it breaks apart (2-4" no reinforcement, old stuff). Sometimes I use a skidloader backhoe attachment to drag it out, that works better in some situations. Like I had a piece that was cocked upward against a retaining wall that goes down so I could only come at it from the far side. It was easier on the slab I wanted to save that was adjoining it if I curl the high end towards me vs. trying to pry it out with forks and I couldn't get close enough to hook the high end with the forks.

I just slipped the forks under the concrete and picked it up. It broke in small enough chunks that I could pick up most of them and put them in the dump trailer. The few that didn't break up small enough I raised one edge up a few feet and dropped it on a rock. No breaker required.

  • @oxconcreteremovalfirewoodm3863

    @oxconcreteremovalfirewoodm3863

    Adan yes wear and tear is expensive. Track replacement, window replacement, hydraulic pumps on the machine, and Jackhammer maintenance and rebuild then you have Rent for your business to store your equipment,Wcb and Insurance. But most of all you need to make you money in the summer because you still have Overhead costs in the winter. As for the larger pieces I find it to be faster. You can fit more if the pieces are smaller. So if you hire a dump truck you want to get as much on as you can. Also depending on the square footage you might want to haul it away in as few trips as possible.

    I would hire him due to his honesty and transparency. Fact is he took the job not knowing the work required due to either rebar or wire mesh. In that sense he would have had alot more work to do to remove the rebar. When you factor in that saw blades can run $200-$300 each then your not making so much.
