Concorde Compilation from Archive British Airways Material

Here's a compilation video I have put together featuring archive footage from British Airways, including advertising footage, an interview with Concorde's chief pilot and a documentary about the design, build and operational history of this outstanding aircraft.

So without the A-12 & SR-71 spy planes along with Apollo computer technology. Concorde probably would’ve been years later. The A-12 would cruise @ Mach 3.5 The sr71 would cruise at Mach 3.34 it was a different airplane. The A-12 was signed in 1958-1959 to cruise Mach 3. America stopped a commercial supersonic aircraft because sound #1 also we had learned it’s dangerous and not economical. Now keep in mind the L-2000 & Boeing were gonna be Mach 2.7- 3.0. Believe it or not there’s a huge difference in engineering to build a jet for mach 2.04 VS Mach 3. The heating is ridiculous. Mach 2 is much easier but the issue is the sound and flying over the line of death without a pressure suit. I don’t know how you would get insurance to carry it.

It was smart of Concorde engineers to stick to Aluminum a widely used material for Aircraft manufacturing and thus limit the speed to Mach 2. They created a new Aluminum alloy that could withstand the heat
