Concertino for Piccolo and Band is a work commissioned by and dedicated to Fernando Marinho. Attempts to portrait musically a little of what Fernando is… Energetic, always willing to do more and on the other hand, romantic and nostalgic. The Concertino starts with energetic and jolly themes. Recall the Iberian heritage, through the sorrow of romantic, beauty and nostalgia of the intangible. And ending again energetic and bright.
This is Pascoals way of honoring this great friend and Portuguese musician.
