Concept Cars - Renault Icons

Featuring rare and fascinating archive footage, this documentary charts the remarkable history behind Renault's concept cars, from the 1990 Laguna Roadster to the recently launched Renault Alpine A110-50 concept car.
We also look back to where it all began in the 1930s, when American designer Harley Earl unveiled his vision of the future with the revolutionary Buick Y Job. Also featured is an interview with Renault's former Head of Design Patrick le Quement, the man responsible for putting Renault at the forefront of concept car design. Le Quement took the Renault Scenic from a concept car to one of the French manufacturer's best-selling cars. His successor, Laurens Van Den Acker, gives us his thoughts about Renault's current concept cars including his latest creation -- the Alpine A110-50. We also visit the Louis Vuitton Classic Awards held in Monte-Carlo where two of Renault's celebrated concept cars join some of the most prestigious vehicles in the history of motoring.

Robert, sorry for the delay in replying. It's a good question, but one that I'm afraid we haven't been able to answer. Your best bet is to contact Renault via the Renault.com site for advice.

The way the history is rewritten is abusive : the Espace (remember the Matra P18, originally for Peugeot) is 10 years older than the Scénic, but it wasn't a "real" Renault's idea... and the decision to produce the Avantime instead of the M72 is what killed Matra Automobiles... Patrick le Quément was one of the worst things that happened to Renault. How did they trust the guy who "designed" the Ford Sierra and Scorpio ?!
