It has been my experience that most new concealed carriers pick a gun that's way too big and then they don't end up carrying it. The Ruger LCP Max is the perfect compromise: 13 shots of 380, fully loaded weighs 15 oz, and it comes with great Factory night sights. I can achieve an aimed rate of fire of 4.86 rds/sec @7yds wiith mine

Good stuff. I’d add to know your most likely scenario. You don’t use a ball peen hammer to do framing. When I’m on security detail, I carry a full size as my effective range is much further and I’m required to engage. When I’m traveling with my family, the threats (that I can’t avoid with good Situational Awareness) will most likely be much closer (i.e. gas station) and a micro-compact will get the job done. Having options allows for intelligent choices. If you can only afford one pistol, choose distance.

hmm, 35+ years with a 1911 commander size top end on a govt frame...in a vertical shoulder holster. Haven't found anything else that fits my paws as well.

Another thing to remember, you're probably going to need more than one carry gun. Super easy to hide a Glock 19 wearing jeans and a coat come summertime a Ruger LCP fits right in your Short's pocket
