@@Muzikrazy213 The "gray on gray" quip led to an attempt to add color to some office buildings. The open office redesign looked much better than the 80s and 90s cubicles, at least the one I saw in Santa Clara. Much more current, modern aesthetic, without walls. I left the company a couple of years after that so not sure how well it took hold. Friends who stayed said it didn't work out too well but it's been years since then (Conan did this bit in 2007).

i would love for him to continue Conan Without Borders after he retires from the talk show (preferably never, but hope he has 3-5 years in him, can cross Johnny Carson as the 2nd longest running host in the US). But i like the interviews too, thats how most of us non Americans find out about him. He's definitely a great interviewer, as seen on his podcasts and whenever decent guests come on his show. He's a great writer, as evidenced by his time on the Simpsons and SNL, and the Late Night show, and he's the complete package of physical, absurdist and verbal comedy as evidenced by his remotes. The man's a modern comedy legend, definitely one of the top comedians in the last 30 years. America's lucky to have him, hope they show him the respect he deserves, but he's def an international treasure too.

The really evil thing about moving a chair that says, "Do not move this chair out of this cubicle" is that when someone walks by the place where you illegally moved it to, they'll think that's where it belongs and the chair won't ever be able to get back to it's home unless another evil person walks by

I was working there at the time, and my claim to fame was shaking Conan's hand when he came back to witness the redesigned office layouts. I was on one of the floors that did not receive the makeover at the time, and they were doing a before and after tour with him. No cameras. I wanted to say something witty, but I was speechless (so was he). I am the same height as Conan, and maybe he was in awe of not being the only tall person in the room.

I was at Intel when this was filmed and air back in the day. Wow I even recognize some of the faces in the cafeteria. These cubicles look like a different world now--not sure what Intel has changed to now but I have switched to a software company in 2014 and it's been open office space for me ever since. Equally depressing. The no individuality part is also the same across tech , software or hardware.

That sucks. I think there'd be more creativity and innovation if everybody could express themselves. Plus, if it wasn't so serious there than people would have a nicer job (I think). How are the bosses at tech companies? I really love all the funny teachers I've had because everybody always laughs and still wants to learn. I think a funny boss would be a lot better than a scary or serious boss, because they could cheer everybody up and just be nice to everybody.

Open office space is even worse than cubicles. At least with cubicles you can visually tune coworkers out, and maybe have a figurine or cute picture to make it feel slightly more custom. Open office space is just SO distracting and I'll be glad when that corporate trend finally dies down.
