i am a regular white dude but I think I know exactly which scent you are speaking of, having had coworkers and acquaintances over the years who always gave off a certain aroma😅. Joop for old black uncles, Brut for old white uncles. ahhhhh the stereotypes!

Not if you have a secretary and just have to ask for it to be done, and then you just have to sign things. On the down side of a thoughtful and handwritten note, it does leave you open to scammers who want to copy your handwriting, or signature, for some unknown reason or even people who may want to verify that you wrote something else which can be part of a validation or verification kinda thing as to what was given to whom and when kinda thing. (They often go thru this issue when verifying and authenticating autographed signatures on stuff and how many there are out there and situations like that.) For instance, if they did a chain letter styled Joop gifting, with the original Joop bottle and Tracy Morgan gifted it to Conan, and Conan, after putting it on, gifted it to someone else and so on and so forth by the time the bottle of Joop runs out, or the original scent of Joop dissipates from Conan, signaling the end of the Joopapaloosa gifting extravaganza, on what we can assume would be the fourth day from its original application according to this video, which is when the chain gifting would start, how many people could be smelling of joop and signed the original gift note to show the trail of Joop that Tracy Morgan and Conan were responsible for spreading from the original bottle that was gifted displaying a whos who of people participating and a provenance of the original bottle of Joop. They could all even take a picture of the original bottle of Joop, or video as they apply it, like Elf on a shelf and see how many times it could be regifted, and worn, making the scent from the original potentially last for a full 8 days (and nights) on the Jooperites? Joopee's? Jooperians? Whatever, if it doesn't dissipate fully until day 5 off Conan, possibly, thus allowing more time for the Joop to circulate. At that time however, it would be immediately brought back to Conan and kept in a glass case in the equivalent of the Residential Conan Library along with the letter with all the joopie people's signatures from the escapade. Thus it has 4-5 days to travel far and wide Jooping up participants and wowing people caught regularly in elevators with them or walking into the wall of Joop that I'm sure would happen should they be second in line for any enclosed spaces like bathrooms, meeting areas, and offices.

I am SO GLAD we got a follow-up on the JOOP (wife's reaction/home reaction).

God I love this podcast even more than his shows. It's just him performing for the people around him and I love it.

I love how Tracy is both super random and super sweet... Like "oh, Conan liked my cologne, gonna send him a bottle"

Love the bonus of seeing Matt write "WRAP" at the end and showing it to Conan to end the segment.

“They’ve done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.” Was remembering the Anchorman cologne scene as they spoke 😄

The fact this has turned into a 3rd part series is magic. Not only the fact that Tracy called the bluff- giving Conan the bottle of Joop... But the fact that Conan then delivered... I kind of want to see an ad campaign at this point XD

The best thing about this story is that it’s 100% true without a shred of hyperbole. JOOP! is no joke.

Joop! was our official cologne of the early 90s NYC club scene. We left a trail of Joop! From the car to the (Palladium/Limelight/Webster Hall) and back.... Ironically; a rep pr the company was at a department store one day around then and said we are pronouncing it wrong and it is actually supposed to be pronounced "Yope"....

@@bastiaan4129 I'm only realising now it's not some weird smell named "Jupe". Fashion Designer Wolfgang Joop was, like, for decades considered our ambassador of style and sophistication. Over here in Germany (he's hailing from Hamburg), he was always presented as being a big player in the international fashion scene. So funny that it turns out his scent is actually being perceived as super-tacky. Don't let get word out to Germany. This is a real brand killer for Wolfgang Joop the man.

Joop is an absolute power house. Joop and Blue Jeans were my two and only fragrances as a teen. When Conan says that Joop was on him for days he's genuinely not lying. Though I'm surprised it's still as good as it was when I was wearing it a bit over a decade ago. Two sprays and I could genuinely smell it decently almost 30 hours after applying it. I still like the smell of it but as it's so cheap it smells quite artifical and it's somewhat dated but these days with everything starting to smell the same I think Joop might rejuvenate and become popular again.

Lord, I agree with some others, this should have been animated or live acted out like one of the old bits from his late night shows! I miss his bits, actors, and scenes from the creative genius of Conan and his entire team. Conan and team, if you're not going to do the HBO show soon, please let's invest in some skits for the podcast either in live action or animated form. This stuff is too funny not to be visualized or acted out like it used to be. The visual conesuers need you back, CoCo!

My dad used to love Joop. Not an endorsement. I haven't worn cologne for almost decades but when I did I'd always get Emporio by Armani because it was the only cologne I thought was great, and girls actually really seemed to love it. Joop! is one of the most infamously unpleasant fragrances ever made. It's normally compared to cough syrup. Tracy mentioned it for a reason.

I remember wearing this in the 90's -- I'm pretty sure the J ("Yope") is silent, I could be wrong, but that's how we pronounced it back then. This and Cool Water were my go to's.

If you are coming from Germany (like Wolfgang Joop) you are completely lost until you check that they are talking about "Joop". It's pronounced more like a longer "Yo!" with a "p". 😬🤪😆✌️
