You kinda remind me Debbie Harry from the blondie... we do not know if this will be the staging, but lets talk about this... -Song: the song is design to be dubious and depends about the interpretation of each one. The meaning is divided in two interpretations; The extreme used of cellphones by people to a point that we lost contact with each other, and sometimes we need to get that contact back. Cellphones are not a bad thing, but sometimes we should know when to use. The second interpretation is about loosing someone. And now the person is digesting that process to a moment that must move on, otherwise it can be stuck, and just let life pass by. -Rhythm: there's a lot of influences for this song, its a way to show that Portuguese Culture have so many other influences, like arab sounds (has to do with Berber invasion in Iberian Peninsula) African sounds (the colonization in Africa) Chinese bells and India sounds (the commercial route in asia) and also the tradition fado by Portuguese Guitars. -The dancing: its freestyle, but the common steps are Kuduro (african dance) -The costume: the clothing is a specific tradition ones in the north, specifically used in Carnaval, by caretos... Its not very clear the origin, but it may have connections with Celtic influences. The north of the country, had lot of Celtic influences, so, its safe to assume that Conan used to symbolized that influences. The mask, is to symbolize Egyptian pharaoh connecting with two circles (that must people call them spoons) represents Moon and Sun (life and death) which is Osiris Egyptian God. The long nails, apparently is a connection to arrow lyric part but, we can assume that is also connected with thai tradition dances, that the girls use in their fingers... maybe representing Portugal connection with Timor (here is something that i think, is not very clear) Sorry for this long text...

Hello I'm form Portugal! When you hear Conan Osiris for the first time, it sounds a little strange. But it's just like that, then you'll like it more and more. The cellphone has a vital power in our life... So, Conan Osiris gave to the cellphone an extra power... to call to heaven in order to kill the longing/ missing (saudade) of a soul that passed away. Therefore you see a dichotomy if he will kill the longing/ missing (saudade) or will the longing/ missing (saudade) kill him. And he doesn't have the courage to pick up the life, because he's suffering and he wants to die with the pain inside him... But then he decides to go downstairs and live and wreck the cellphone... both his and cellphone's soul (it is why the dancer falls in the floor on purpose). Then, in the end he decides to keep the cellphone because he shot an arrow to the longing/ missing (saudade) and continues with his life (or not). Besides this message, how many of us lost a relative... the love one... a friend... in a war... with cancer... in an accident... whatever... and decided to wreck the phone because the pain was unbearable? Or you didn't want to listen that news by cellphone? Or even did you never wished to have a special cellphone to listen for the last time the voice of a person who passed away?

Our entry is a mix of cultures,between ours , african , midle eastern with a touch of japanese

Telemóveis means cellphone. He is calling heaven, trying to reach someone who departed. "Do I smash the cellphone and kill the longing (Saudade) or do the longing kills me? Does he smashes his cellphone (heart?) and try to move on or lingers in longing till death. Who kills whom?("quem mata quem?"). The instrumental is a mix of Fado (the way the Intro is sang seems like a fado song), Kuduro, Afrobeat and Oriental Etnic Folk singing about SAUDADE, the feeling of longing for someone who departed. Portugal's culture is influenced by others cultures since the Age of Discovery, from Africa to Asia, singing about SAUDADE from those who departed throught out the world or off this world. The costume is inspired in japonese manga and the jaw piece in old Egypt therefore his name Conan (inspired by Hayao Miyazaki anime Conan The boy from the future) and the egyptian God Osiris. The music also reveals those influences: the beggining seems like a Kabuki (japanese Opera), the way he sings seems like portuguese Fado and the beat is African Kuduro style mixed with middle eastern etnic music, all these places influenced portuguese culture throughtout the last 5 centuries.
