This year in Conakry, Guinea, there was a giant concert done in memory of two incredible dancers who have recently passed: Abdoulaye Sylla and Mariama Bangoura. It was a beautiful performance which honored their lives with a lovely display of culture, tradition, much heart and LOTS of energy. In fact, the energy after the performance was so high that the festivities continued in the form of an unplanned, fiery HOT dununba right after the show. This is footage from that dununba. Here, we're able to see MASTER drummers and dancers such as Alseny Soumah, Mamady Sano, M'bemba Bangoura, Bolokada Conde, Fara Tolno, Fode "Lavia" Camara, Abdoulaye Toure, Gali Camara, Namory Keita, Jack Sylla, all of whom came home to Guinea this year. The dununba was so strong and lasted so long that they had to turn out the lights in the building in order to get everyone to go home, hence the abrupt ending. Nonetheless, for the amount of time that it did last, we enjoyed a triumphant collaboration of many amazing artists. Hope you enjoy:)
