Rodney O and Brother Marquis had a group called "Caution Crew" back around in 1983. One of the first West Coast rap groups.

For reals? Any of their music out there?
My uncle was a DJ in the 80s and his bedroom was right next to mine. Got my first taste of hip hop hearing Tommy Boy records, Gucci Crew, and Rodney O n Joe Cooley!
that's why I liked the song. I'm from that Everlasting Bass era.... Mr Magic was what we played when you wanted to test out your car subwoofers at the shop
We loved Rodney O & Joe Cooley down here in Texas back in da day💯💯💯💯💯
The OG finally getting his flowers 🔥🔥🔥

First heard "Everlasting Bass" on KDAY... and had it on a Roadium mixtape with so many other great songs of the time. When I tell you "Everlasting Bass" is in my top 5 West Coast songs, believe it. I will run it back each and every time I hear it. Peace to Rodney O, Joe Cooley, and RIP General Jeff. Yeaaaaaaah, boy!
🔥🔥🔥🔥 "The bass that's in ya face..." 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you Sway in the Morning. Rodney O love you bro. Rodney O & Joe Cooley my living legends in West coast Hip-hop and Hip Hop in general. So glad the recognition is coming full circle man dang this is really awesome. God bless you all with much love ❤ Sincerely this is appreciated, Joe
As soon as I heard "Like That" it took me back to Rodney O. & Joe Cooley. I never knew Joe Cooley was from Compton either. I always thought L.A. It's good to see a West Coast pioneer still with us. 💪🏾 He was definitely being played in Detroit.💯
DJ Magic Mike ❤❤🎉🎉🎉

I thought the same thing!
He had so many hits and was so way ahead of his time. Your chance to rock is my jam!
Making everlasting bass at 16 is CRAZY
Im old enough to remember u dont hear me tho being on the radio
The Late Great DJ Cameron Paul broke Rodney O and Joe Cooley in the Bay Area back in the day. He used to mix a lot of their jams in his mixes on record/radio and in the clubs. Rodney O and Joe Cooley were huge in the Bay Area. Cameron Paul was my first introduction to these guys.
We absolutely need a KDAY documentary.
Absolute legend gets finally the respect he deserves.
That's what up! Give this man his flowers

Can we bring back bass music?! Something to cruise to. Feel good tunes
Rodney O has been sampled many many times. Especially with the lyric "Baaasss" from Everlasting Bass and "Are you ready, Yeah!" from "Your Chance to Rock"
If you wanna know the origins of “Bass Music” look into groups like Mantronix, Original Concept & records like Run DMC ( Together Forever ).
Everlasting Base is in my music collection baby

You must be from the 90's era. Riverside and Rubidoux area. I'm having trouble remember the clubs, that were off of Chicago in Riverside and the other around the corner off of University Ave. right next to Baker's
Legendary BlessUp Sway & tha Crew 💯
Diggin Deep Sway.❤❤❤
Legendary Hip-Hop producer Marley Marl. Said that he invented bass music. When he was in Miami in the early 80's. That's a fact.
Rodney O and DJ Quik look alike by the eyes.
Gratitude.
Rodney O & Quick need to do a DNA test. They gotta be brothers or first cousins! ❤
I wonder what was Rodney & Joe's split on the royalties & publishing because if Joe was left out that would be catastrophic.
Lil Flip had a classic freestyle to Everlasting Bass!! We blow indo freestyle
