Congrats on passing your test! I took a CompTIA test last week too but my experience was completely flawless. I too was using an embedded laptop webcam but it worked correctly. The day before I actually remembered that I had disabled the embedded webcam so I didn't have to struggle with making sure the correct webcam was used when taking a WGU test. My laptop passed all of the pretests just fine once I re-enabled the embedded webcam. Everything went flawlessly for me getting into the CompTIA test and I was actually taking the test 10-15 minutes before my scheduled time. (For anyone wondering, I passed the A+ Core 2 exam!)

Congrats on passing! I also passed Cloud Essentials (CLO-001) this past Friday. What I thought was weird was that in the e-mail Pearson View said that a proctor will contact you after you're done doing the check in process. I sat at my desk waiting a good 5-8 minutes awkwardly while being recorded until my exam started. No communication with any proctor.

Great insights, I had taken the same cloud exam, I had the same panic with the amount of time. Here is what I think I remember.. the clock started counting down before I was answering test questions, it started when you review and agree to the terms of the exam!

Antar, Greetings to you. No you cannot read the questions out loud during the exam. I have done this before and I have had the Proctors tell me to stop. The reason for this is because you may have a hidden tape recorder and you could be reading the question out loud in an attempt to record the questions for other people.. So if you can read them without making a sound then that what you should do but please do not read them out loud. Thank you!!!

Awesome encouraging video! I'm scheduling my N-007 exam. Does the proctor watch you on camera? At the testing center for the A+ it was cool since the proctor sat at a desk in the center of the room but is this "eyes on you"? That would make me sweat.

So do they observe you from your webcam camera during the entire exam in addition to the 4 photos of the room?

Yes they do. They have software that can look at your face and your eyes and tell if you are looking at something off of the screen. Real scary stuff.

Lol the camera software troubleshooting was part of the test, you just didn't know!

No way they did count the time wasted to troubleshoot the camera WOW so if the issue could take 1h to be fixed , you will have only few minutes left ? da hell man , i tried with other vendors they don't count until you start your exam and even during the exam when you have issues with internet they pause it and you resume once ready. I will not go for online test , i will wait until i will find a center that can host my exam. Cheers Bro !

The certs will help you get the door. That’s why I chose WGU so I would waste time. I could knock out both in one swoop. Looking back on it I wish I would have found out about the school earlier

Whsup UNC! I just got out of the army as a 94 F Iwas stationed at Fort Gordon hooah! got into WGU network operations and security. What are some strategies to get thru this rigorous ass program! All these certs are a requirement to pass the class and move on and it stresses me out thinking about it.

Another person said they kinda hijack your computer screen and record it and you can't even talk aloud. Did you experience this?

Congrats on passing! One question. Do they allow you to use a blank sheet of paper or something of the sort that they would usually provide for you to write on when testing at the test centers?

Please, if you can help me I'd be grateful.I've tried taking the A+ 1101 twice online. It says connection error and I've literally waited over 3 hrs and a proctor never reaches out.The system diagnostic says everything is fine, connection, network, mic, screen, speaker etc. But whenever I get to the front of the queue it says "hmmm a network error ocurred". This ocurred on wednesday, it ocurred today again when I rescheduled the exam. I've turned off firewall, virus protection, used two different devices. Unplugged my router and connected the devices directly to the ethernet port. But pearson never gives a reason or helps it just says they can offer a reschedule. Is there another vendor besides f***** pearsononVUE that proctors the exam? I took ITIL v4 exam with people cert and their system worked just fine 4 weeks ago.

Yes there are. But the ones I’ve dealt with are worse than PV so I couldn’t even recommend anyone in good conscience. My advice would be to go to a testing center and do it over there. That way you can get this cert behind you and move on. Sounds like you’ve taken the necessary troubleshooting procedures at the house. No need to keep waisting time on that for now

Is it true they do not allow you to use a blank piece of paper as a brain dump and notes for home tests? Do they only let you use a digital whiteboard on their software for your notes? I'm on the fence about taking Net+ at home, I feel like having a physical piece of paper as a brain dump would be so much more helpful n faster than having to use whatever whiteboard program they have since I have no idea how well it works and what limitations there are with it as well.

By that logic it would probably be better taking it at the testing center. Taking your test at home comes with convenience but also added stress from the additional rules and login actions they make you do

No, but the exam software will show you whether you passed or fail immediately after you finished the survey at the end of the exam. Once you finish that you can go onto the pearsonvue website under the COMPTIA section and and pull your score report and exam history. Mines was ready in about 15 mins after I logged out of the test

You can go to www.certmetrics.com/comptia/login.aspx. Create an account. This is where all your COMPTIA certs live. You can download them and send the score report to anyone that you like.
