I'm 32... I was just 20 when the first compression fracture occurred. Now it's 100x worse into my 30s. My whole back is crawling, tingling down my buttocks, legs and feet. Mainly when I walk. I have scheuermanns disease 😔 so I cannot force my back straight!!! You need to learn more about scheuermanns disease to understand that not everyone can sit with a straight back and cannot force their back straight! I have stenosis in thoracolumbar. My compression fracture is T12 and boy is it making me suffer right now. It's when I sit, stand and walk but I feel comfortable when laying on my side with a leg pillow.

Do you think that a 50 year old healthy male with no bone density issues could break his own t5 and t12 vertebrae from a convulsion? I don't remember waking up March 25th the day after I had a covid home test spritz me in the eyes(sodium azide). That morning from what I am being told I woke up got dressed and then for some reason had a bath which I don't do, after which I started throwing up profusely and went and laid on my bed to have a convulsion which they describe as a grand mal like seizure. An ambulance came and got me, took me to hospital. While there they said I had another seizure and became violent. They sent me to another hospita(1.5 hrs one way) by ambulance for a CT scan then returned to local hospital and then by about 10pm they called NY wife to come get me. I don't remember anything since the Nighy before. It's been 4 weeks and no more symptoms at all. While at the hospital I also somehow had my t5 and t12 vertebrae fractured. The Dr isn't sure but they are sending me for tests to see if I have epilepsy. I am 50, healthy, I eat right, I don't drink or smoke. I do suffer from extreme pain and depression already. I don't have any other pressure in life. My bills are paid and I own a home. I am wondering if a seizure can break a healthy person's bones and just come out of the blue. I did have one syncope incident several months previously but woke immediately after 30 to 50 seconds. Any interesting comments from professionals?

@truejustice I've known over a dozen people that have lost height due to a long career of heavy lifting this is one of the reasons I don't do heavy legs or back I focus as much as possible on my muscle connection full contraction of the muscle because I talked to too many 45 year old men with bad knees that can't squat at all because they used to squat 500 pounds and I've talked to too many retired bodybuilders that have lost two or three inch of height cuz their spine is compressed. And I was still able to build very nice to find feather quads and only squatting two plates or less.

Yea i got one of em.. car accident.. they tell me that i was hit head on driving down the highway when somebody crossed over into oncoming traffic.. i dont even remember getting in the truck that day, or 2 days before.. woke up in a hospital and them telling me i was in an accident and broke my back.. bastards never even gave me anything for the pain and told me to take aspirin.. went from being able to contort ontop of a ladder lifting over 150 lbs over and over all day non stop to having trouble wiping my own ass.. its been 4 months and i still cant do anything while standing for longer than 15 mins before my back forces me to go lay down.. feel helpless and broken.. killed my job, my life, my bank account, my faith, my motivation and my spirit.. the doctors just tell me "oh yea itll probably hurt you for the rest of your life and theres nothing that can be done for it". So i got that to look forward to.. and aint nobody going to want to date a guy who cant even finish a load of dishes without almost passing out in pain and from holding my breath trying to finish what im doing and get through the pain but crap just keeps hurting worse and worse.. feels like its just going to let go and my upper half is gonna just flop over..

Hi, I had a bad accident in Feb.2020 that resulted in a compression fracture (over 50%) in my upper spine - T3. I'm feeling pretty good now most days after wearing a brace for almost 3 months. I'm trying to find out what I can do now to strengthen my back and spine without hurting it - I especially want to lift weights again. I'm petite and over 62 years old. Any advice or help would be very appreciated. I can't find anyone in the area where I live in NC. Thank you!!

I've had no injuries in the back prior. I guess my question is is it worse for me? Also post injurie I get locking in my back and loud popping.

my mother-in-law has suffered two separate thoracic compression fractures in the last six years. However, her bone scan was negative for osteoporosis. The first fracture was due to a horseback riding injury and the second was a work-related injury. I just find it interesting that she keeps getting these types of fractures. She also has scoliosis and hypothyroidism. Could any of these things be having an effect on her spine?

  • @Gina-Montana

Jennifer Dailey very late reply but YES to the hypo. I'm only 42 and have already had a t5 compression fracture and fusion of c5,6,7 in neck. I have Hashimotos thyroid disease, which results in hypothyroidism. Despite most drs shrugging their shoulders when asked, in talking with other hypo groups, spinal issues are very common.

I fell and got a compression fracture on my l1 in February. Dr really suggested the procedure where they fill it with cement and I was very reluctant to agree to this, considering I have l4l5 s1 bulging disc (diagnosed last spring) and thought much of my pain could be coming from that. I then had my next appt and had basically decided I’d go ahead with the surgery and now my insurance won’t approve the mri the dr requires in order to go ahead with the surgery, my theory is they’ll put it off until my back is healed and I won’t even need it. I had a bone scan last week and he said it’s still hot, He said he would recommend healing on its own until I told him it looked like u or like it was caved in from the top, then he said I may need the surgery to build that volume back up but if it was a crack down in it he’d let it heal due to the dense cement putting so much pressure on the adjoining vertebrae after surgery. I’m still waiting to hear from my insurance/the dr but I’m just more torn and confused than ever. I’ll just be 32 in June and am not prepared for a life of chronic pain so I want to do what’s best for my quality of life going forward. If anyone has experience with this please give me your feedback, it’d be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about insurance or filling your body full of metals and cement if you want to be healed heal yourself it's possible just put your mind to it.
