The struggle with intelligence is that it nominally makes life "easier" insomuch as the "right" choices become readily apparent; but it's also quite painful if you're honest about how many people just want to use you for their own gratification or to bolster their own image in public while undermining you in private. You realize that their compliments were just manipulative lies and that the things you esteem in yourself they truly have no care or understanding for. Especially when compounded with beauty and compassion: it can sour your view of humanity to be consistently given the choice between isolation or one-sided relationships. We all suffer--but not every abused person turns into an abuser, and it's disheartening to witness so many people conform to behavior they know in their soul is wrong. Suffering pays dividends in wisdom if you're interested in learning from it and undergoing the transformation it points us towards... but energy takes the path of least resistance, and that synergizes negatively with ignorance to keep people in a cycle making choices that benefit themselves at another's expense in the short-term whilst further entrenching them in their suffering in the long-term.

So much this... I was gonna say... life definitely wasn't easy, in fact most people wouldn't have survived the gruesomely torturous circumstances that I had to, but I do accept that it was "easy" in the sense that not only did I survive it, but was able to select ways to thrive in it despite it being so horrific... and, of course, those witnessing the reception of the rewards thereafter will be misconstrued as it just magically appearing instead of it being the payout of karma for what was endured

@@user-uu6oh8qm6v Ironically I've found life gets harder the more you heal. Your demons will let you live your life without much disturbance as long as you enable them; it's when you commit to being better that you'll face the "storm and stress." And when you do defeat your own worst tendencies, the people still stuck in the grip of the self-destructive habits you've overcome tend to grow resentful of you since to them it feels like you've cut the legs out from all their excuses while simultaneously robbing them of an enabler to comfort them.
