    reminds me of SlideNerd when i was learning Native Android. He always put tons of effort into making visualizations and i both respected and admired his effort to helping the visualization of topics. Taking the time to cut out the useless parts that other people just leave in sets you apart and provides so much value. PLEASE keep doing this. Subscribed!

    Hi, Your work is so great I am really thankful that you are there to help with almost everything when it comes to flutter. You have made coding in flutter much easier. However, Rive has changed closed signups for Rive 1 and we can now only register on Rive 2 and use that to produce animations. It would be really great if you made a tutorial on that too and also made a package so that we could remove all the boilerplate. Much thanks Sir! I mean I there are no words to thank you enough.

For now I have no experience with it so I don't have much input on the matter right now.

    Awesome video. Humble suggestion: Since leftSideTouched is always dependent on topHalfTouched, but topHalfTouched is independent, you can put the top half check first like 'if (topHalfTouched && leftSideTouched)' for a small optimization due to short circuit evaluation.

    If the invisible area of the animation is obstructing some part of the UI, this part of the UI will become "touch-immune" (aka watch only) and practically unusable. So we need to somehow pass the tap event to a widget behind. Not good. Or if there's no active area (or it can be disabled) FlareActor will do it automatically for us?

  • @FilledStacks

    @FilledStacks

    2 жыл бұрын

    If there's a guard against it then it won't register it. Additionally you can simply make sure that it's ignored in the closed state and it'll go to the part behind it.

    Given how quickly this was implemented i think they probably would. But also, i think providing the library that plays the animations is a good way to keep things separate. Maybe they can make SmartFlare official for interaction. That would be pretty cool. Luigi and the team at 2Dimensions have seen all of this. They seem to like it.

    Hey! Thanks for the tutorial. I am a designer and not a dev, and I find it a bit difficult to understand everything. But I was wondering it is possible to trigger and control Flare objects from Flutter. For example: I want to do a globe spinning animation, but it would have a intro section with 1 second lenght, the the globe spinning, which would be a loop, but when a event happen, I want to animate that globe so it scale down, or fades, or whatever. It would be like animating the parent object rather the its children, but preserving the current animation state of the children. I haven't found much documentation on this, so any information would help.

    Hey, thanks for watching the content. Must be pretty hard to follow when it comes to the coding part. The answer is yes, you have complete access to the artboard and the nodes on there. If you get a dev to take care of the dev side direct him to the 2Dimensions git repo where they have a lot of demos and examples for flare projects. Ones where you mix animations and control separate ones (the house size increasing example). You can definitely do what you're asking. Hope that helps.

    You're the first one that has come accross that. The warning is from an old package and has since been updated. Update the smartflare package to ^0.2.6. And make sure you have added everything correctly. The asset in the pubspec file, the assets in the correct location, the full filename to the animation and the correct name of the animations. If you're still struggling the working project is on github in the description. Clone it, open final and see if that runs on your machine.

    If you've solved a lot of problems these things become a matter of sitting down and writing the code. Over time, the more problems you solve in terms of UI or business logic the easier this becomes. You could do that, but if you have multiple animation that need to be guarded against then one boolean flag won't work. I know that because I only had one boolean and it didn't allow me to guard coming from specific animations. In chained animations some can only play after another has been played and others can't be played after a certain state has been reached. If you have only two states you can use one of the other SmartFlare widgets like the cycle which will simple cycle between two animations.

    I really love animations and I want to get more into them, but they feel so "hacky" compared to the other stuff you program even though the results look smooth.. What I mean is: If you have to add a new icon you have to adjust working code a lot.. and this gets harder and harder with more complex animations... animations just dont feel clean to make to me

  • @FilledStacks

    @FilledStacks

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, UI code is not as clean as business logic. I'm trying out different ways to reduce is and build it into the architecture so when i find it I'll share. The code in my opinion is not that bad, already an improvement. I don't know if you saw the part with Smartflare at the end? The reason I use flare to do the animations is because it's about 5 times less code than using controllers and tweens to do the same stuff. I first show the code of how to implement, then I show how to make it less. If you look at my complex animations part 2 video. The code for that is about 15 lines long. But the animation is very complex. If it was for icons your code would be around 10 per icon, which will be in its own widget so you'll end up with 1 widget on the outside that takes a callback for tap. So about 4 lines in the view. Doesn't seem that bad to me given that you babe to write about 15 lines of code just to setup the animation controllers for "normal" animation code.

    @@FilledStacks You misunderstood me a bit (I watched the whole video) :) I didn't want to critisize your work and contribution. I am actually very thankful that people like you exist and try to organize this mess of animation tooling which exist in every framework I have used. With "hacky" I mean, that you don't have a direct reference to the icons. You have to split the flare "box" into different areas to locate the icons and implement the tab events. Animations in flutter are just very overhelming at the begging, because simple animations already require a lot of boilerplate.

  • @FilledStacks

    @FilledStacks

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@oemeraran8183 Aaaah, I see. Yes that's not a recommended approach. It was just one of those experiments I wanted to try out to see if I can reduce all that complex controller/mixin boilerplate to create some good animations in less code. I think I have an idea of how to get "access" to the sections, you'll still have to define the areas but I could possibly create a SmartFlareAreaReference that can be used to call functions on 🤔 Actually a cool Idea. I'll look into that when I get some time.
