@@mikeycod7377 Its not hard to do Mike. All you need to do is pinpoint the object and sink the shovel into the ground. Not all machines are good for pinpointing. It happens.

Great digging!

Some people think digging a small plug is more discreet or better looking for the land but if you do it right and leave a flap you can make as large of a plug as you want and noone would even be able to tell.

I agree, I think the bigger the plug, the less damage, and the better it looks.

I started detecting in my late teens around 1978 I would have been blown away to have Lidar images & gps available at that time. Unfortunately some disabilities in my 60's have made it to where I can no longer detect so I sure love watching you all it brings back a lot of great memories to one of the best hobbies on earth 😊

I LOVE my Excalibur Shovels. I have one like you and I have a shortie for longer hikes. They are a bit heavier than the norm, but they have zero flex to them. I’ve unearthed some big rocks which with other shovels have bent. Mine are Slimer Chartreuse Green as well. Two Connecticuts WOW! BTW liking Lynndiannna Jones name! Very clever!

Something maybe not everyone will know. Dug coins when evaluated or graded. Often come back as "Environmentally Damaged" or "cleaned" and in rare cases "Details." So for Rich's sake, the coins we dig are already damaged. Happy Hunting! 😉🙂
