    Big user of Novablast and really enjoyed them, first run out in the superblast v2 and took 1.5 minutes off my 10k PB 😮

    Just did a 25 miler in them, fresh out of the box. Amazing - they occasionally feel a little clunkier than v1 but the grip, and upper, are so much better. Breathable, responsive, stable. Yep, Perfect long run shoe. And the grip was good enough to take on some serious technical, cambered, rocky stuff too (here in Colorado). Great road to trail to road option.

    This is purely anecdotal, but I heard that at the Tokyo Marathon (or Olympics?) in the super shoe era, most athletes were wearing brands like Nike and adidas at starting lines, brining a degree of shame on local brands. ASICS leadership may have made more allowances for innovation in technology and changes to meet consumer demand and compete with other brands. It’s like a totally different brand now.

    Totally agree. I loved my SB1s - first pair did nearly 500 miles before they just looked awful - although to be fair the rubber was still going strong. Only done about 12 miles in the 2 but loving them so far. I now have a pair of nearly unused 1s I'll have to find a home for - or save for later! On the title - I've never really understood why so many reviewers try to suggest they are unbiased. We all have biases, to brands, to previous experiences etc etc - so I totally get it!

    I actually went down half a size from my usual and I feel they will take a few miles to break in. Easy paced 10k last night and a parkrun this morning where I noticed how responsive they were as I put on a sprint finish, I think they could quite possibly end up being the best shoe I’ve so far had and they will definitely eat up the miles in the long runs while keeping the legs fresh!!!

    I'd agree with your thoughts fordy. Bit more forefoot cusion I can feel but I think the upper is a tighter fit on the 2 compared to the 1. My toes are definitely closer to the end of the shoe. I'm hoping upper loosens off a bit after a few miles. I think the foam may give a bit as well giving a slightly softer feel than the 1.

    I’m waiting to give these a try. I have the SB v1 and when I compared them at the time to the Novablast V3, it was night and day different. The Superblast was so much better than the NB v3, but since the Novablast 4 came out, I’m not so sure the Superblast is worth the extra $60 over here in the U.S. Yes, the Superblast is still a great shoe, but is it $60 better than the Novablast 4? I’m not so sure. I feel the NB 4 can do pretty much everything the SB can do. Yes, it’s heavier, but that’s a sacrifice I’ll make to save a considerable amount of money and get nearly the same benefits and longevity out of it. I still run in my Superblast V1’s. I’m a bigger runner, and they’ve been holding up fine. I’m just finding myself gravitating toward the Novablast 4 recently.

    I got it day 1, the original Superblast was my favorite shoe of all time. I've been having trouble picking up any other shoe in my closet because every single time i go... ok maybe i can push a bit harder in another shoe but if i do it in the SB2 my legs are gonna be fine after. I remember the original superblast needed a break-in period but i didn't have that here, the FF Turbo+ is more compliant out of the box then the original FF Turbo was, i just hope it doesn't bottom out quicker because of that. Superblast 2 remains king.

    My 2c Got mine the Monday before launch and 80km deep. For me, a bit clunky at 5min/km and slower, prefer Nimbus for that. Definitely not as propulsive/efficient as a plated shoe for tempo and above, but feels really nice and forgiving up to Z3/tempo (4-4:20min/km) Beyond that pace, it was OK, wasn't overly keen, but much more forgiving than keener shoes, which are much less keen at Z2. Early days, but seem perfect for 15/20+ km runs which include efforts at or above tempo, or long progressives. Z2 only runs of any distance, I'll stay with Nimbus, and if I didn't go longer than 15/20km, then NB covers everything else outside of a dedicated fast shoe. Could not justify these if I rarely ran more than 15kms. Midfoot of the upper is not wide, lockdown not as good as Nimbus or NB (but didn't need heel lock). Forefoot upper not super secure, feels like there's either too much volume, or it's not structured enough - It's my biggest concern. Definitely a niche shoe, but it's a niche you spend a lot of time at effort in if the niche applies. Pretty much this, but with some flavour of Zoom-X, would be my dream training shoe

    I think you hit it on the head that the shoe needs to be more widely available. ASICS is sitting on a gold mine with the SB but refusing to mine it… people are willing to pay a premium price but ASICS isn’t cashing in. With that being said, I have huge feet and wear a US 15 wide, so it would t be available for me in their current size offerings anyway. I love the NB4 and also enjoy running in the Nimbus for recovery runs. I would purchase the SB2 in a heartbeat without hesitation, even at the $200 price point

    Would this work for someone who over pronates? My current trainer Asics GT 2000 12

  • @philipppuchner1115

    @philipppuchner1115

    Ай бұрын

    The GT-2000 12 was the first shoe which was unrunable for me. Hard as a brick, even with my 90kg and EU 46 model. And that after GT-2000 6 and 9. Tried 10 & 11, super cheap from Asics outlet: The 10 is like the 9, just bit better and the shoe rolled like charm, then the 11 got a wieder plattform and is way stiffer (why? that you slap on the ground with htat wide sole?) and then 12 is like 11, unneccesary wide and hard like a brick. When heel striking, when forefoot striking... unrunable! You have to run it excactly(!) in the middle. Very small sweet spot, where the shoe is silent and doesn't feel like a block of concrete. But you have to be excactly at that spot, otherwise: unrunable! I mean, put on shoes and run, walt, sprint, etc. Just in the GT2000 12 you feel like an idiot (me, at least). I cannot recommend for someone who has real pronation issues, but the little pronation support of then GT2000 was nice, no i have the Kayano Lite 3, which has low arches (i have high, but it works for me anyway) but also a little pronation support, because when your feet get tired over time, your feet start to probate more than in the beginnig. Also, pronation of the foot through the stride is normal. When the bone goes on front of the foot, the arch lowers down a but. which means pronation. The more that happens, also when walking or even standing, the more you see it. Usually peopel with flat feet (aka low arches) pronate (because low arches, therefore flat feet areb a consequence of pronation/lower arches). Instead of the hard GT2000 12 i would advise you to try the new Asics Kayano 31. I don't know the 30, but i tried on the 31. high stacked shoe, not the softest, but runnable. Also the outsole has gotten better since the 30. If the Superblast 1 or 2 works for you depends on how much you probate and how heavy you are. Try them on in the store or order them from a shop with good return policy.

    Then better buy this Super Daily Trainer at least 4 pairs, then buy another track shoes and racing shoes separately. For track Adidas Takumi Sen Series, Racing other brands

    This shoe is like a new iPhone coming out in the running scene. Expensive is still doable but out of stock and selling like hot cakes. Can’t get a decent pair size probably till sept and only by then probably a new colourway 😂

    Honestly, this shoe aint it. Ive done 40k in it and its just not a fun shoe. Its stiffer. The ffb+ ecos stiffness definitely doesnt help. The change in heel geometry and added density makes this shoe feel and behave more like a novablast 4 than a the superblast 1. The heel is way more noticeable and overall the shoe has less give, especially in the heel area. I just ordered 2 more superblast 1s because the sb2 just doesn't work for me That said. The new upper is great and the fit is definitely improved. No more retieing laces during every run.

    Hated the first version, must be one of the only runners who did. Definitely won't be buying these. 🇪🇸🇪🇸
