READ DESCRIPTION
Hello from Liquid Blue Cabarete!
Charles Osterlund here and I hope you enjoyed the video! Wing Foiling Lessons Part 1 and Part 2!
This was a two take complete video on how to get started with Wing Foiling. The video covers a good range of exercises both on land and on water with some theory to help you get started. I would always recommend checking out further videos on the channel as well others channels to get a solid theoretical foundation before practicing especially if by yourself. We always recommend if you have the chance to take lessons to do so as your learning curve will still be steep though it will be quicker and safer.
Remember that lots of practice play a key role when learning this extreme water sport, especially if you are a beginner and new to the foil so do not be discouraged as everyone progresses at their own rate.
I want to give a shout out to Dominican Republic as it is an amazing country to explore and the North Coast is the best spot for all of you willing to wind foil, surf, or kitesurf. We are based in Cabarete which is one of the most complete destinations for vacationing and water sports.
If you are thinking to come down make sure to connect with us and get all the information you need; our contact information is at the end of the description.
If you have any questions you’d like answered or video ideas you believe we should create content about or around please leave your thoughts in the comments section below or reach out to us via email or WhatsApp (will leave our contact information below). We are going to be releasing content consistently around water sports and Cabarete which is why I would also recommend subscribing to our KZread channel to get updates as soon as content is released.

We can help you plan your trip to Cabarete and make sure you make the most of your time here. From finding the perfect spot to ride to hooking you up with the best accommodations, we've got you covered.

Excellent full walkthrough. I'm going to be taking my first lesson in about a month. I feel like it will be very helpful to have already gotten this explanation walking into my first lesson. This way, during the lesson, I can focus on the feel of the kite, the board, and the wind, rather than simply focusing on the instructions. Cheers!

Hey William, definetly don't get impatient! It is a "lifestyle sport" that you will always be progressing. The key is to first "show up" - putting the time into getting out there and training. Now of course it helps to have a helping hand though hopefully KZread videos like this also help out with the progress if you got nobody around. Will be coming out with some more videos in the next weeks just been busy working. Keep it up and let me know where your at in your progression! Got foiling yet?

Hey Tom! Learning on KZread is one of the ideal ways to practice before and after a session since there is so much content out there! When I started 2 years ago +/- I used some of the earlier videos to get the basics and then with time refined and put it all together. If you have the chance to get some pointers by other rides with more experience or hire a coach/instructor for a few hours you can definetly get lots of progress in that way as well. If you are planning to come down to Cabarete let us know! We have had various KZread Viewers visit us here in Cabarete wether just to ride and or learn to ride! Send me an email and we can get in touch - can give some pointers on where to stay/etc... Fall is a great time especially if you are flexible. Keep an eye on the wind/wave forecast and you can find some great times. Anything above 10-12knots will work and usually we are around 15/18 knots with some moments being 20-25+. Bottom line is we have conditions for a good time year round! Lots to do both on and off the water. Warm and windy regards Tom, CO

I'm almost 61 and ... Picked up a new toy (second hands) as an early birthday, Christmas, New year, gift to myself. Each time I see these video on KZread I really got that feeling of wanting to experience it myself to fly over the water on a foil. As my previous windsurfing run dates already something like 40y ago ... As I never did ; wave surfing, wake boarding, kite surfing, snowboarding, ... I know it will be a challenge. It looks easy and smooth on KZread but reality seems waaaaay different. And as I don't like cold weather (and cold water) the days of good weather with wind are limited here on the lake. But if you wish to do it and don't try it ... you loose and maybe will regret of never tried. . Now waiting for good weather conditions to get out for the first time with this setup. I believe I mention you want to remove the board leash from yourself incase a wave hits you and you let go of board on impact so it doesn't drag you / tangle with you. You can keep the wing leash on and keep wing high on way out to avoid it getting taken by a wave. Generally though if conditions are extreme you must adjust accordingly and also to your spot.
