Warrior just been eatin good ever since they got buffed mid ARR. Then in HW we just had a feast with Deliverance stance. Now we're just stealing all the food.

I am happy that Warrior is getting more Earth aspected animations, so Upheavel does not feel quite as out of place anymore. But man, does losing Inner Beast/Inner Chaos animation sting me.

a prime example of how simple can be appealing as hell. I love warrior, and what else do you need than more axe and more bonk, more animations and more stronk. entire comment section is happy. then you head over to happy's smn preview....xD

Finally finished all 4 tank breakdowns. I like how all the Specialty Defensive CDs got slightly different flavors, homogenization done right imho. Everyone still got a donut, but each donut has it's own flavor, you get a plain donut, you get a glazed donut, you got a iced donut, you get a powdered donut. My biggest gripe with the tanks as a role going into Dawntrail is my own damn fault. PLD and WAR are what I'd prefer to play, but GNB is the only mount I have yet to get, so I'll be forcibly delaying leveling those 2 for some for some 200+ runs. PS. I like plain donuts, so while it may seem like someone got shafted in that metaphor, out of those 4 I actually prefer plain. If I made it like Glazed, Powdered, Jelly Filled, and Fritter, then it would be obvious 2 groups lost hard.

I understood the analogy and very much agree. It cannot be helped that jobs within roles would share some actions given the basic utility, but even within that homogeneity, you can add some flavor to distinguish jobs, even superficially. Like the various raises we have in game. Regardless of the job, they have the same cast and recast time, same effect, same MP cost so there is strictly no reason to not just call it "Raise" on all jobs with the same icon. Yet, they made the effort to give them thematic names and icons to differentiate them somewhat, and I like that they seem to do the same here, with even some unique effects for each tank. Hopefully it is a trend they continue with role actions.

@@Crusina I will be doing that mostly, but if I'm sitting with tanks I like more it'll be tempting to play them instead. So early on when I just happen to be tanking more often only having GNB will make it easier to passively do it. The days when Expert Roulette is actually done daily and doing 6-10 raid runs for drops a week add up fast.

Uh so problem. This isn't a donut it's a core class skill and brain dead 400 tick Regen is easily better than basically every other flavor. Especially when it was on a class that already had more Regen than every other tank combined assuming the paladin doesn't spam self heals.

@@DKarkarov Setting aside not getting analogies. I'd argue PLD's Large Shield attached to Guardian is the best, and has no means of losing value, shields are always good. If you made an argument for moving them around while not seeming weird, you could flip DRK's Shadowed Vigil has % Activated Heal with WARs Regen, GNB's Great Nebula has increased Max HP + [Heal = % Increase] is something WAR already has in it's kit, and GNB already has a regen so that trade is out. WAR already has a ton of easy access healing in it's kit which makes the regen potentially seem better than it is, early on when you can offset Damnation and Bloodwhetting it'll probably be good, but once we get to the end of a patch the consistently available Bloodwhetting chunk will probably knock down enough mobs to make the regen on Damnation be mostly over-healing anyways. As with all tanks and healers, until we feel the content they are designed for and the closer to final potencies, which one is best and by how much is pretty up in the air. We know their focus this expansion is on improving the encounter side of combat before refocusing on the Job side in 8.0. If harder content starts adding more AoE Trash/Add Phases or faster incoming hits then it's possible Damnation will be amazing, Tank Buster wise though, it's the weakest atm. Regardless point stands, for a Core Role Skill with Job Flavoring, the tank mitigation series is done really well. Shield, Excogitation, Regen, and Thrill of Battle being tacked onto 40% DR are all good choices on paper for how we understand battle content today.

Was really hoping Rampart would get job-specific animation updates, not that the new animations would overwrite their current job-specific meatier mitigations, which still look cool. If that means classifying Rampart back as a job action instead of role action for that to work, then by all means; that's how it works with healer rezzes and phys ranged raidwide shields

meanwhile DRK is in the corner begging for heals like "please sir can I have some more"

As a healer main who has just started doing dungeons where raw intuition is a thing...i hate having warrior tanks now because i heal less than i already had to...and they are getting more self healing? I honestly hate it

As a Healer main I like WAR as a tank because I can just do more DMG. If I want to heal more I do raids.

I see it as a plus that you don’t need to heal a warrior so you can just DPS and just burn mobs quicker, saves time for everyone and I actually like parsing.

@@Chalkos42 This says two things to me. Dungeons need to be harder / Tank healing needs adjusting. A max level dungeon difficulty should never be solo healed with tank heals. Not every healer wants to raid. Now take WoW for example. while dungeons, heroic through mythic it can be easily out geared where tanks are sufficient. That is generally not the case on launch/mythic plus.

​@@Some.LegendI can agree to a certain degree, but, with the exception of poor DRK, all tanks have insane self sustain. So add some more dmg to healers in that case, not 2 buttons, where 1 of them is a dot. Healer role is being greatly diminished, when not needed even on end game content. TOP was cleared without healer on patch

I literally only play Warrior if I want to get the Adventurer in Need Tank bonus from duty roulette but don't feel like thinking about how I'm using my mitigations in dungeons. Glad I can continue to do that in Dawntrail 👍

Wars one of the jobs i feel dont get much of a change in a good way. I'm happy as it is but the things they add doesnt change it but just gives it more bonk bonk feeling! Smn is sadly one of the examples they didnt change much a bad way instead

I really want to know as well. Hard to tell when the only example in previews is lvl 100 gear. While I'll enjoy the skill all the same, I think it would be great if it was made to scale any weapon equipped, if just to feel more personalized.

honestly veageance should just remove that 55 potency thing, and reduce the healing from it also, as Warrior has enough healing already. Still, it seems it's damage has been made lower than Dark Knights, which is an absolute needed and awesome change, considering that it has a insane defensive kit already, only hoping no War mains complain again like they did in Endwalker despite War being broken.

And to think SB warrior existed as a thing

I hope WAR never gets any sort of rework, it's perfect as is

wtf nerfed. don't they know eureka, deep dungeon exist? or maybe they nerfed it because of eureka and dd.

only issue with warrior is before LV50, you have to do 2 gcds for aoe combo on single target to get your damage buff, just feels really odd when level synced there.
