Complete Team Performance in HUGE Blowout - NCAA 14 Marquette Golden Eagles Dynasty (Y5|W2) - Ep. 61

Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I birth the Marquette Golden Eagles program on NCAA 14.
In this episode, Marquette looks to build on a 42-39 win in Week 1 against Northern Illinois. The offense clicked on all cylinders as junior QB Greg Walker tossed for nearly 300 yards with four total scores. JUCO offensive weapon Josh Terry emerged as a stupendous option out of the slot as he eclipsed 100 receiving yards in the first half. However, the defense couldn't follow suit.
While the Marquette defense made some big plays as they forced a few turnovers, they were also prone to giving up the big play. Huskies senior RB Aregeros Turner stole the show as he kept NIU in the game and rushed for over 250 yards. It came down to the wire but the Golden Eagles secured the slight victory.
Now for the first road test of the season against the Houston Cougars, the Golden Eagles will look for their offense to continue buzzing as Walker looks far more comfortable and poised under center than in years past. Meanwhile, the defense will need to come together and play a more complete game as they face the air raid Houston attack led by senior QB Greg Ward. He's joined in the backfield by one of the most talented RBs in the nation in Kyle Hicks.
Despite the rainy conditions, the Marquette offense gets off to a lightning-hot start through the air much like last week. However, it would be sophomore RB Craig Jones who would steal the show en route to a Marquette single-game rushing record, along with three touchdowns. The Golden Eagles continue to fly on offense, but could the defense hold down a lethal passing attack led by a dynamic dual-threat QB?
Stick around after the game for our first in-season recruiting update of the season as we pursue some of the nation's top recruits and start scheduling visits for the coming weeks. We'll also take a look around the nation to see how the Top 25 and Heisman Watch are holding up. We'll also preview next week's opponent, the North Carolina Tar Heels.
In the next episode, we'll host our first wave of visits as we take on Mitch Trubisky and the UNC Tar Heels as our Golden Eagles look to continue their strong play to start Year 5.

Yes sir! In past seasons I would be overconscientious with the mindset, "just don't make mistakes". Trying to play a little more freely and loosen things up a bit and it's really been paying off! Thanks for the ongoing support! -JV

Love this series man. I just remembered a play that usually does well. Shotgun sweep. Step back with RB and reverse field

Thanks man that means a lot! I really appreciate your enthusiasm with this series and your viewership. I'll give that a go in one of these next couple games--I'm pretty sure I have some sweeps in the playbook although I rarely call them for some reason. -JV

Exactly! Sometimes the RB can really struggle to get going. I called it against Tennessee (video will be up tonight) and we had a decent result. I think I'm going to leave it in my back pocket for late in games as I think that specific run design will cater well against the defense when they're a little more fatigued and worn down. I still have to try and pull off a step back! Trying to work it into the repertoire but my mind is always on spin move lol. There was a big missed opportunity--this game or maybe the next where I was running up the sideline and went spin when a step back would've been perfect. We'll get there eventually lol. -JV
