    Hi great video, I recently had to change out the motor. But now I’m confused which is the purge pump and which is the regular pump. My water is spilling out so I’m currently using my av but I need to get this back on track, it saves so much money. I’m out in Lancaster, ca in the high desert so this is perfect for our weather except monsoon season. Thanks again!

    We just got this unit and it is not nearly as good as the traditional style. It does not move nearly enough air for a whole house. The metal box looking ones with the big squirrel fan inside move heaps of air and also have way more cooling water pad surface. But....your video is perfect. Very helpful. Thanks. Good job.

    I got one of these last year to run when possible to avoid using our two central units (7 tons of cooling total) 4,000 sqft house. I live in the Mojave Desert area of Southern California and I have to say it works great in our very dry climate with 100+ temps common. Yes the larger box type units can come in bigger sizes and move more air but they also use more energy the larger you get. As a supplemental unit as we use it they are not loud and take up little space and look decent.

    I would think a dual window fan would work instead of a evap cooler taking cool outside air from outside to keep temps cooler inside. Possibly the air flow is more with an evap cooler than a dual window fan. We use our Bonaire Durango all summer here in southern cal. And it has literally saved us several thousand dollars in cooling to cool the house. We only use the central AC when it’s humid outside which is a few days during the summer. Thanks for sharing how to clean it.

  • @savemoneydiy1462

    @savemoneydiy1462

    11 ай бұрын

    Yes that could work too. If not using water feature, then as long as it is cooler outside than inside you could use either window fan or evap cooler. The water feature on the evap cooler cools the air down a little more. Do you run your evap cooler 24/7 (outside of the humid days you mentioned)?

  • @savemoneydiy1462

    @savemoneydiy1462

    Yeah sounds like we’re neighbors. With the water pump it should blow air several degrees cooler than what is outside. But if outside is 102 it will blow air in the 90s into the house, which isn’t very helpful. Here’s a video on how we use it to cool the house down as much as possible. We really love using it Spring and Fall, and during any cooler summer nights. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYpt2ph_idq7isY.html

    I have a problem with mine. I have developed a leak. It is located where the top cover (the one with the pads) meets the bottom on the right side. I have tried cleaning any mineral deposits that might have prevented the two plastic parts from sealing, but to no avail. The leak appears to be coming from above in the back. The float valve and the water level is fine. I can't figure out why it is leaking but it is a real pain in the butt. I might add, this started recently when I had to replace my water pump. Before that, it didn't leak. Have you had any experience with leaks like this?

    Control module failure. The control module uses a primitive rectifier bridge circuit to convert 120v ac to 30v dc to operate the interface control display. The bridge does not have a heat sink and it quickly burns out ( average life is about 2 years ) .

    Check back in a week or so I should have another video finished that may help you. I’ll put a link here when it’s done. Meanwhile…Does yours cool the air a little? Maybe 10-20 degrees cooler? If it does, it’s doing it’s job, nothing wrong with it. The company claims it can cool air by as much as 30 degrees though I’m not sure that can happen when it’s 100 degrees outside? Otherwise, make sure your water is turned on and working. Run the water for a few minutes before turning the fan on. If you don’t the initial air won’t be cooled for a couple minutes until the water has worked it’s way through the system.

    LOL I know what you mean. We found that cooling the house down at night (with or without the water feature doesn’t matter) was better than bringing in daytime air through the evaporative cooler with the water turned on. This video explains how we use it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYpt2ph_idq7isY.html

    "We don't use the water feature we just use this as a fan". Why don't you just install a Whole House Fan in your attic and save yourself all this cleaning mess.

    We used to use the water feature, then not as often. Sometimes we still do. It’s a preference of humidity in the home. Also because we use it at night when the air is cooler outside than inside. For anyone that hasn’t bought it yet, yeah a whole house fan is another option. With water feature, this ought to cool the house better than a whole house fan. Thanks for asking!

    Turn to Jesus people he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved God bless you all. If you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live life with him as your example../
