This was an absolutely amazing walkthrough! I've been hesitant in the past due to my lack of knowledge in the emulator world and every time I would google the process it seemed so convoluted. I fell in love with BOTW back when it released on the Switch and I've really been wanting to try it on PC with all its visual glory. Thanks to you I was able to achieve that today! no issues and no errors, followed your process step by step and it just works! Got to thank you for this useful tutorial video. At the end of last year I got BOTW running on my PC at 4K 60FPS after playing with the settings, but after not using CEMU for a couple of months I found that the performance had not been as smooth as before. But after watching your video I was able to get the game running beautifully at 4K 60FPS once again. I can now finish the journey that I never completed back in 2017 on the Wii U. Got TOTK on Switch but after seeing how beautiful BOTW looks on PC there is no way I can stomach the low-framerate & blurry mess that it's on the Switch.

Awesome guide! It's pretty rare to come across a guide as flawless as this!

To anyone having trouble installing the update and DLC, I finally got it working by using CEMU 2.0, I didn't need to use the "install game, update or DLC" button which wouldn't work for me, I just put the game, DLC, and update folder inside the game path folder which is under Options>General Settings>Game paths>Add

Quick Tip to everyone! In the video where he's explaining how to setup your controller, and tells you to select the Pro Controller, DO NOT DO THIS!!! Set it to Wii U GamePad. Some Puzzles Shrines in BOTW require motion controls, and having this set to Pro Controller and not Wii U GamePad will disable the motion controls in the game entirely. Thank you ArdentVision for this tutorial, im already about 20 hours in in the past 3 days since watching your vid!

@@jenguskhan5537 if you want to disable the motion controls then just toggle that in the BOTW game settings. However if its turned off, you cant solve some of the shrines, so you miss out on good loot, and heart containers/stamina wheels

I've got a 4090 as well and my fps sits at 120 at worst. I'd look into the settings a bit more to make sure you have everything optimized well enough.

To people having issues with the game saying it needs an update, or the game not showing in the emulator/no + showing on the graphic packs section. You need to install the base game first by clicking the button under ‘load’ then DLC then the update file. DO NOT click ‘load’ before doing these steps. Load is only to get the game running once installed.

It's just a shame that the Nintendo Switch is such a letdown in hardware performance and it really doesn't make it up for the quality game BOTW is. My beefy PC however is a better ally for this stunning game and you made me actually have a much better experience. Thanks for this splendid tutorial, sire. We all owe you one, cheers! 🍻🍻 EDIT: for everyone wondering or having trouble: you said in your video when you don't have that game already installed you do it via the "load" button and then search for this "king"-file. This simply just opens the game and prompts you do install the update etc. The right way is to click "install game etc." and then choose the "meta"-file in the folder. this way it actually installs the game + update + dlc. I had to find this out by myself since the "load" function just opened the base game and didn't let it appear on the CEMU surface like you had. Just a small tip for everyone.

I went from being just curious about if running BOTW was possible on the PC to playing it tweaked at over 100fps@1440p in an hour, wow thanks so much.

For people wondering why the files for update/DLC arent showing when you go to select them, (I'm assuming this is new to newer versions of cemu) it now asks you to select the folder the file is in instead of the file itself.

Great Vid, I was wondering. Would you mind sharing what CPU is in your comp and what are the max frames you get(without cap)? I've got an I5 12600K and an rtx 3080 I get 90-130fps in 2K depending on where I am in game. Would be nice to know what kind of performance i can expect from a better CPU. My 4k display is only 60hz so I can't test higher frames with my setup. Also, if you right click anywhere in the games are of cemu and click refresh it may fix your game being lit up red, should be able to double click that and launch the game.
