If you had a cracked screen, how come you bought a replacement for less than $5?! Screens are the single most expensive component in a smartphone. I think you meant the glass, didn't you? And you still got it for extremely cheap.

my phone is dead even i have changed to a new battery. When charging, i can feel that my phone goes hot especially at the charging port flex connector, so what could be the main problem and what to fix? by the way, I manage to completely disassemble my note 4 and this is my very first time doing so! thank you so much for the guide. :)

Excellent tear down. Your method of removing the back cover/metal bezel assembly is preferable when attempting to remove the glass/digitizer/screen assembly.

Anyone before try to press to open from back side, make sure you heat it up from front before press. This guy on this video has opened this device before that's why it's so easy to press and open. Even after heat it up, it will be hard to open. Otherwise you will break the screen

My S-Pen is always disconnected (after a drop), when I pull it from the housing the phone doesn't bring up the s-pen operations menu. What component is causing this? I was hoping to collect that from your video, but couldn't.

Hi, I replaced the power, volume and home button and changer port all at once. Everything works now but the touch screen. Any idea what to check? Never had that problem before. S pen also still works, just not touch.

hello can u point out where the power IC is situated? my note 4 wont charge properly (Sometimes very quickly) i thought it was battery problem. I changed the battery and performed the factory reset. The problem still persist. When turned on it will boot till home screen (apps showing) and then will abruptly restart and then it keeps on doing that. Works fine on charge though. I think its power IC issue. Am i right? please guide. thankyou

Hi I have a note 4 and it is unable to make or receive calls after changing sim. We can send and receive messages and the internet works but just can make or receive calls. Called samsung but they said as we bought from gumtree we dont have a proof of purchase and hence wont be covered by the warrenty. I want to know how to replace the sim card slot flex. Does can the phone still be reattached without the adhesive mentioned at 0:35, my problem right now is both the lock and vol up/down buttons are stuck/difficult to press, i have some of the tools to open up the device, but if I do everything up to the 1:35 min mark can the phone be reassembled if i do the reverse or will it need that adhesive? @Wit Rigs

+Samuel Chandool the digitizer and lcd are glued together. but it can be done and is very hard to do and most of the time the lcd will brake. so you will end up getting the digitizer/lcd assmy. so as a tech I always just get both and replace both.

My S Pen stopped working and trying to crop pictures were not being allowed. As soon as I would remove the S Pen and it would make the noise it usually does to notify you that it has been removed the screen would freeze. I called AT&T and had to deal with that ordeal for over an hour. They decided to send me a new one including a new battery which they usually will not do unless you pay for the battery and shipping. AT&T has treated me so well over the years. Just about at the 8 month mark and this is the only issue I have had with Note 4. Hopefully noting else will happen but I love having that 1 year warranty. Same thing happened as far as warranty was concerned on the iPhone 5 I previously had and I got a new one at the Apple store. I think it's time to go back to Apple next year when they bring out the iPhone 7. Was told it was coming out this year but that is highly unlikely.

Anybody know what part I need to replace? My phone has never had reception from new no 3G or 4G wifi is fine. Well it gets reception than it does not cannot use the phone at all any idea?

Is there a way to remove the screen without breaking the stylus flex material? almost every video i see it gets ripped.

It is going to get ripped no matter what. It's so frail and thin it's just going to happen. The idea is to take your time and do it carefully gradually applying moderate amounts of heat so that it is more likely to be freed from the adhesive without large tears. When it is removed you should carefully fold the tears back down and tape them together as is seen in many other Note 4 repair videos. Whoever did this disassembly did an absolute awful job of removing it and ended up ruining the stylus sensor, which will have to be replaced, or a new screen with the stylus sensor pad already installed will need to be purchased

I opened my Note 4, and i change the charging port flex... and the overheating problem seems to be fixed... but the Sub Key touch button for the recent apps it does not work well at all... i touch with my finger and do not work at all, it only works with the S-pen... what can i do? sorry for my bad english... google translator ;) hahahaha

thebigtragedy Two possible. The camera is broken or the ic of the motherboard is broken. You have to test it by professional to determine that.

I watch the full video, and i haven't seen you remove the mic on the device. My mic on my note 4 needs replacing. Callers cant hear me when talking. I have to use my headset with a built-in mic. So can you help me figure out what i need to do to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

Those are thermal conducting pads... the reason why so many Note4s fail with age.

My Note 4 went for a quick swim. Of course now I have no display and bad behavior overall. Is it worth fixing myself? The top left LED still lights appropriately but whenever I try to turn the phone on, it vibrates shortly and that's it.

Was looking for a close up video of battery connector pins? There was nothing wrong with mine but my eyes not as good I bend the 2 pins , now looked as this pin not seating properly and phone froze at start up "Samsung loco I was hoping this video does it . i was going to replace battery terminal but after seeing this video , I changed mind, will buy a pair of glasses or magnify glasses and will try to fix the pins. My note 4 can't connect to the tmobile network especially LTE. It sometimes gets on 3g and hspa but the signal drops in a few minutes. What do I need to replace? The signal lines? BTW its been water damaged. Thanks
