Just find a valley coin op in good condition...everything is replaceable on those...8 x 4 or 7 x 4...depends on the room you have to play in...then go find a deal on one.

Question, will a modern MDF coated table be compatible to a slate for ball action etc? Or are they miles apart. Thanks.

Hi, The only real drawback of an MDF table is in its performance. Whilst the composite beds produced by factories today are incredibly advanced, and some offer a quality of game that is approaching that of slate, there is still a trade-off between game performance on one hand, and cost/weight on the other. www.libertygames.co.uk/store/pool_tables/buying-advice/mdf-vs-slate-pool-tables/
How about the lighting? Is the price includes the light normally? And what the distance of the light?

Lighting bars are a separate purchase. Basic rule of thumb would be to hang the light shade 34 inches above the pool cloth (based on a UK league size pool table situated in a room with a standard ceiling height.)
First get a lot of money.
