You need to import a South African “vw velociti dashboard”

You could get similar look with dashes from any newer VW, they are not so hard to fit but that ruins the car completely IMO. Its much nicer to have a genuine soft (not plastic) EU/UK mk1 dashboard, these are really hard to find in good condition and he already has one.

Dad with the assist. Cant beat a bit of Dad help! 😊
I think you should trim the seats close to the way they came. They have a cool retro look which fits the car and the dashboard is black. Plus beige seats, especially cloth ones, can get dirty pretty quickly. If you use a tweed trim in the middle, which was common in that era, it really hides dirt and stains and looks sharp for a long time.
Great build buddy love the workman ship and the excellent skill lots of love from south Africa Johannesburg 🇿🇦
Loving the build so far, excited to see what comes next 🤔👌
Love seeing the progress 👍🏾 keep up the good work
Nice work Zak!! Coming along nicely
Love your videos, I look forward to more uploads.
The Caddy is looking very nice, looking forward to seeing more progress for sure. I think the seats would look nice with cream inserts on the middle section ,black on the bits that see a lot of wear with cream stitching and piping.
Since I've been watching the progress of this build...I had to subscribe to grow the channel...The cream headliner was a good contrast to be pure black carpets...Reckon them seats should also be black to complement the carpets... Consider sound deadening and carpeting the rear panel also to keep road noise from transmitting through... I've built myself quite a few Golf MK1s in the 90s and this takes me back to those days...Did the Interior package also come with the trim that goes on the door between the door panel and the window beadings on the inside...Our versions had them and they help keep the door clean and prevents paint fade when you lean your arms over or on the door as you sit Lastly reckon you should get the bigger centre console that holds the three gauges, and you can add more modern LED gauges for Oil Voltage and whatever you need to monitor with the newer R32 motor...maybe even consider getting the quarter windows that serve as vents as well they have swivel mechanism to open them as the need arises...Just my humblest opinions as aMK1 enthusiast
Great work Zaks Drop the next video already
Looking unreal now, seats similar to headliner keep it nice and bright
Looks fantastic top job!
Staples rang, they’d like their entire stock of bulldog clips back 😂 In all seriousness though, just found your channel and I like your presentation. Plus dad help is awesome. Subscribed and going to watch from the beginning now!!!

😂, I didn’t have enough clips at one point. Thanks I hope you enjoy watching!
Great job, good choice of seats and colours.
Lovely build so looking forward to the end result
Keep it up man, can’t wait for the final build.
New sub. Love love love old school Volkswagens.
Good work kid👌🏻
Great idea using those clips ❤
Nice one Zak, top quality as usual 👏 👌
Great build Zak👌 I would keep the middle of the seats completely original. The sites need to be fixed, in and outside, back and sit sections, and I would let them be made out of black leather and remove the knob for bending forward if they don't have too bend over anymore. The headrests I would also keep original.
your caddy is coming along nice and clean bruh i love it , im following you from start to finish , all the best to u and ur pops with the caddy bru
Nice job Zak. Seats are classic and looks very good on the car. About the trim I'm thinking if its possible for you to find the classic GTI tartan square pattern but with beige stripes or elements to kinda fit with the headliner, the car colour etc. Something like that.
Looking mint Zak lad, beautiful build your caddy❤
It’s coming along nicely mate… really enjoying the build 🤙🏻
Looking smart top job
Absolute amazing work!
Very nice
Found a new favorite channel!!
Good work my man . Look beautiful
Waiting for the next video
Great work Zak ! Seats should go a cream tartan imo !!!
The caddy will be nice with a vw velocity (SA mk1 golf )dashboard
Fitting seats have always been a problem with caddys. I've been slowly building an extended cab Rabbit Pickup(caddy) using the front half of an 84 GTI. Adds about 30cm behind the seats.
What about making the front the square headlight one?
retrim in black/browm and maybe some yellow or beige details
I think you need to do the bolsters in dark grey with tartan centres. And also get a velociti dash for tge car
Masha Allah
Great build i hope ur channel takes off.
Great video, what if you need to take the carpets up for some reason for example wiring?
Could do the seats in gti beige tartan .
Ox blood red seats
Nice work mate 👍 colour code it so cream and black?
Very nice work! You can tell it has cost alot of hours and it pays of! But, please tell me where you got you seat adapters ! I cant find Them anywhere

Correct me if i am wrong but you dont glue down carpet, what if you need go trough wires in near future? You will probably destroy it whn you will be peeling it off
@zaksgarage

It’s glued to the sound deadening mat & on the edges so it should be fine if any access is needed for the wires
Hey man how do I contact you to figure where I can get parts for my build?
Me and you can hang out. We would get along!
What are those wheels?
Leave the seats original. If you absolutely have to, id go with ith a cognac colour.
