COMPLETE GUIDE To Building New Sirocco In Outward Definitive Edition

Ойындар

New Sirocco town building has always been hard to understand in Outward. It requires a lot of money to complete and you can very easily make it a nightmare by building things in the wrong order. Luckily Definitive Edition did add one or two changes that make this process run a little smoother. Here is my guide for building the town in Outward and I mention a few tips and tricks I have found after building it 4 times. You will need to clear out every cave in Caldera multiple times for this process to go over smoothly. If you don't you will need an insane amount of money. That being said, there is a way to potentially build the town without a lot of gold to silver. But you will need to farm out a lot of samples and turn them in regularly. Hopefully, this guide will help you out and give you some idea of what to build and when.
Outward is an RPG/survival game that allows you take to make an almost infinite number of builds. Melee, magic, archery, and even traps are scattered across this harsh world in the form of skills. You must have a large amount of money to purchase these skills, but luckily the monsters drop extremely valuable items. The game has been harshly criticized for its realistic and difficult nature. Feel free to subscribe and watch me beat the crap out of some crazy monsters.

    I just want to make some additional notes I missed in the video: -DO NOT UPGRADE the workshops. These are the three that can make you food, wood, and stone. Upgrading them cost more than they are worth oddly enough and will run you out of money. -You don't actually need a single silver to build New Sirocco. I recommend 500 gold because it cuts down on the sample farming. If you have enough samples you can build this entire town just with those alone. They can take a while to find enough though so its worth using money as well. -Building the town is different every time. Depending on which building you choose to make you will have different requirements. For example, one of the buildings can actually count as one housing meaning you don't need to build one of the houses. Or if you build the food store you don't actually need the hunting lodge. These are just a few things I have noticed after building the town a few more times. Hope it helps!

    I Don't know if its difficult to add a text message somewhere to the video, but I think this info about not upgrading the workshop would be extremely important to add to the part of the video where you say specifically to upgrade the workshops. The very last thing I did before shutting the game down for the night was upgrade the workshops as the video said, only to scroll down and learn that I have essentially ruined my save by having done so, which is extremely disheartening since I came to this video specifically trying NOT to ruin my save. I suppose maybe its on me for not having read the comments before watching the video but, I feel like most people don't do that either so I won't be the only person who makes this mistake and also loses their desire to continue playing the game as a result.

    If you've been adventuring in Antique plateau make sure to bring as much liquid corruption and seaweed with you, you can use the rancid water in New Sirocco and a basic health potion with those to make horror potions. Trust me you will love having those for Caldera dungeons and bosses. Great video as always Sheen!

    This comment or at the very least sheen should put a pinned comment for this exact bug that happens specifically for console players. It locks you out of quest progression and will keep you from getting some of your builds full potential if your town gets wiped. Excruciatingly frustrating and had I been a normal guy who plays games as a hobby I'd have probably given up on this title as soon as this happened to me.

    Ofc, thanks for the great guide! 1. you don't need Hunting Lodge if you then build a Food Store. 2. You don't need 500 gold ingots to "start" if you running dungeons every day I'm on second step of main quest (build 2 specialized buildings) and all the funds came from looting\samples. I even have ~600 ingots now :)) 3. you need only 2 workshops only to fulfill quest objective. Upgrades and building more than 2 - waste of time, funds, resources and valuable space 😕

  • @SheenShots

    @SheenShots

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes this guide was made right before my best run ever where I built it with the almost no cost. As long as you collect samples you actually need no money at all. Not even from looting, but most of the time you don't get the sample fast enough and 500 doesn't hurt to have as backup. Also I still think its a goof idea to build all three workshops early on for buildup of food, but you should not upgrade them. Ever. Its a complete waste of money. There are ways to make you town more efficient but in general these steps are for a sort of guideline. But ya I messed up with the workshop upgrades. They are wildly expensive and offer almost nothing.

    Sorry for the wall of text below. Faction passive and active skill rewards after the respective building and their upgrade are done: # Heroic Kingdome-Alchemy store and upgrade: physical damage passive and more hp # Blue Chamber-City hall and unique upgrade: infuse blood skill, deals decay damage, dots, and hp leach with the weapon # Holy Mission-Chapel and unique upgrade: 2 barriers and 5 protection passive # Sorobor Academy-Enchanting guild and unique upgrade: infuse mana skill, deals ethereal damage with the weapon Note, one of the chapel upgrades is bugged, the one not required to have joined the faction lets you have an over 20 barrier buff and this makes it stupid powerful. The fact you can have it on any faction characters, combined with their powerful faction buff/skill is crazy. This makes the holy mission have the worst end-game reward. If you build the other bugged upgrade, it loses its unique passive, which makes it the worst faction by the end of the game until patched by the devs. Also, good luck to those who want to have a somewhat good-looking town. With no way to align the buildings without a way to correct the placement and some clipping issues. A way around this is the debug mode on the PC, which allows save-scumming. Even with that takes a lot of time to make things how you want. If having access to split-screen co-op trade, building the enchanting guild, unless for Sorobor characters, and more than 2 arenas with 2 different upgrades is just pointless. Build something like a water purifier, chapel, or blacksmith to quickly repair your gear, anything QOL-related. If you can do the first town build with a character that has a hex mage tree, the breakthrough passive takes care of the burned hp and stamina, with all the damage might receive and so much running around to find samples this is a godsent passive. EDIT: The latest patch fixed the broken Chapel buff(at least on the Epic Games version). Patch also broke all infusions and varnish/rag imbues, so there is that. Many times these have seconds or some weird numbers associated with the timer. In most cases, all elemental damage imbues only last for a very short time.

    I think sample rotations are not stupid but actually quite well done. Because reading it on wiki is not how you supposed to play the game originally. So with this weird and counter-intuitive rotation system we have almost an actual random. So you're not just "farming" the samples but actually finding them. This makes finding them a bit more rewarding.

Sulphuric caverns is too much work for little payoff to do it more than once. Same with the tower of regrets. I often run through the ark depending on its location to check for samples but the loot there isn't spectacular either.

Since that is a bit tedious I recommend you farm money from killing things in other regions and crafting weapons to sell. Eventually you can get some serious gold from this and its feels a little better to have some money ready in case you get confused in the town building. All I am saying is don't feel pressured to farm forever lol.

    I really love this game and still playing it day after day but ,and this is only my opinion, this town building stuff is a magor failure in term of game design while it s not rewarding the player at all . I have builded up New Sirocco twice and at the end you just have a living dead city. Since the 90s, in every building city game - whatever the media (mobile/pc/console) - you bring life to the city by building stuff one by one : more people, more gardens, more talks noises, ... In this DLC : ABSOLUTE ZERO . You just build up an empty graveyard made of concrete and tar giving you at the end 1 passive & 1 active skill and some water potion buffs. Regarding the gear, at this step you already have the best ones ;) So , huge burden for zero reward in terms of crafting a city. Yeah, talking with the Scarket Lady was sweet , but only once :) . Peace

    To me it rewarding but ONLY for the benefit of building the Food Store (because food is kinda hard to come by in Caldera (or for me at least), the Alchemist shop (for those who sided with Levant for the extra health+15% damage passive Kirouac's Something), and the Passive skill trainer/Weapon Skill Trainer (you can only pick 1 or the other) for those nice passives and good weapon skills ("Moment Of Truth" being the best weapon skill in my opinion). As you brought up the town being silent yeah I never really thought about the town being so dead lol. But that can be said about all the towns in Outward.

    @@tobiasrex8052 Definitely , but other towns in Aurai are definitely more "alive" . Yeah, you just pick up 1 active skill depending on your build (The Technique for me ... ) , 2 or 3 enchantments and voila . I build up New Sirocco twice , because I m playing 90% of the time in co-op ;) , otherwise 1 time is way more than enough.(the 2nd time was a real Pain in the Axe) I guess that having a dynamically evolving city would have been very very costly in terms of time and development .

    So, I am playing the DE with my son and we recently were given this quest. We are in the building phase now, but struggling with money issues. I gather from the start of your video (I haven't watched the whole thing yet) that this is effectively end-game content? It really didn't seem that way when we decided to come to the Caldera. It seemed like it was just the next step in our overall quest. We did the Blue Chamber Collective story, ending with a battle in Monsoon. Is that the end? I had assumed that was just the first of multiple questlines, but it led us directly to Scirocco...

  • @SheenShots

    @SheenShots

    Жыл бұрын

    Ah okay I can explain this. The faction quest is your first major storyline. Once that it over you will have all your extra passive skills from the main story. There are also 2 DLC storylines. The next one you will be given from the inn which is this one here. Go fight stuff in Caldera and build up the town. This is the end game as far as quest go. If you head back to Harmattan you will get the rust and vengeance questline. My personal favorite part of the game that should be done before Caldera. Once all three are done (faction, Rust and vengeance, New Sirocco) you have the final end game content. Fighting unique arena bosses that are hidden around the world. I have guides on each fight explaining where to find them. Hope that helps!

  • @SheenShots

    The rare items for buildings come from the samples. When you turn them into Evangeline she will give you whatever came out of those materials. This is often just funds, food, wood, or stone. But sometimes you get the special items like chromium shards or bloodroot. I would recommend turning in a bunch of samples at this point and see which items you get. Evangeline can also be sent to get One item for you for every 10 samples you turn in. As long as you have Definitive Edition that is.

    At this point you will want to farm those Caldera caves for ornate chests and samples. The samples earn you a ton of funds and resources if you turn them in, and the ornate chests over there drop high value loot that sells well. Just check you timer on the quest from time to time to make sure you don't go past it. (150 days is way more than you really need)

Foh Wait, get funds, find samples, You say.bring 500 ingot like its nothing but you need more Wayyyyyyu crappy aspect they put in for this imo Not worth all the time invested, especially on ps4 non de, we lose alot of perks Ps4 don't get cross zone chest, and non stop bugs have you restart too often. Poor ps4 version getting no love Thanks for explaining, still didnt seen fun lol Caldera is no joke too. Anyway hoping one day we get the update on ps4 but doubt it Yeahhhh booooyyyy

    Unfortunately, this aspect of the game is one major flaw. You technically don't need any money at all to build the town, but this will require you to get lots of samples instead. Which is one of the more annoying parts of the game. And building everything is quite a bit of work. Without stash chests this process is honestly not worth it. I never even did Caldera at all until the DE update due to this. So ya this part isn't the best. I appreciate you watching the video anyway!

    Lol New Sirocco was the answer to "what do we do in the late game." It was a bit of an over correction to the lack of things to do in end game. An honestly that 500 gold is not needed. You can do the whole process with no money at all. I just recommend that because it lets you skip the more boring grind of dungeons that gathering samples requires.

    there is some seriously BAD advice on the resource production buildings. DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE. you make it harder for yourself right there. you only need 2 of the 3 for progressing the quest. NEVER MAKE ALL 3. all that does is drain money and resources for NO ACTUAL GAIN in the end. you only need 2 for quest progress. also : you have to decide BEFORE you make these 2 if you wanna make the food store later or not. the answer is pretty much always YES as the food stores benefits for any build are just way too good. if you make the food store DO NOT MAKE THE HUNTING lodge building. its a full waste if you got the food store all it will do is drain your money each day for no gain. also something he said is just bad advice all around : DO NOT EVER UPGRADE THESE resource protection buildings. COMPLETE WASTE of time money and resources. complete waste. thats a common noob mistake to do. dont do it. build 2 and leave them like that for good. the cost increase simply stands in no relation to the gains for these. and the increase stays in cost permenantly while your use for stone and timber eventually comes to an end. i cannot believe he said you should upgrade these at all and especially so early on. DO NOT DO THAT. you make everything harder for no reason. seriously. delete this part of the video is my advice. you get more than enough timer and stone from the samples anyway. also : DO NOT MAKE 3 buildings that produce funds. also terrible advice. its a waste of funds doing this. the city hall is REQUIRED and always makes funds. you only want 2 of the 4 STORES. NOT MORE. if you plan on makeing the water purifier for funds aswell only make 1 store. YOU WANT the arena and enchanting guild at all costs. thier benefit goes beyond just 1 character longterm and both are the only way to access certain skills and enchantings. some of which are the best in the game. and you can transfer these to another new character aswell. your faction matters. he didnt say anything about this at all : depending on your faction you NEED specific buildings made. these are : levant : alchemy store. this upgeade blocks the advanced elemental arrows upgrade so archers beware here. holy mission : chapel. requires an entire extra building which is extremely useless (bugs aside) compared. this consumes 1 of the 6 building slots. so HM members special beware here. sorobor acedemy : enchanting guild. this sucks aswell as you lose access to 9 special extra enchantments. blue chamber is city hall which is required anyway to get to 6 special buildings and thus kinda irrelevant as the other upgrade is super minor compared to the others above.

    -As I said in the video: there is more than one way to make the town. -Building all three resource buildings early on saves time and I have done this every single run which has helped me each time. -Upgrading these buildings helps tremendously. Read the stuff it does. It adds more and more to the timber, stone, and food for each upgrade. A small amount yes, but that is EACH DAY. So 6 timber over 7 days is a lot more than just 4. Its cumulative. -3 buildings that produce funds is the safe way to do it. Literally can't hurt you so not sure why you would want them. Most people would end up with three anyway. -I mentioned the faction multiple times just not in the exact way you are wanting me to. Good advice you added for the factions here though. I have built up this town 4 times in a row now so you can't tell me this is bad advice or that this won't work. It has worked every time and I've had a pretty easy time with it tbh.

    @@SheenShots He's right though, unless my math is all off. Only the Hunting Lodge upgrades give any benefit. The other 2 net less resources with each upgrade if you work the math out one step further, which is hard to do in a youtube comment but I'll give it a shot. Mason's Workshop at the base level produces 4 stone for 25 funds, a cost of 6.25 funds per stone. The last upgrade produces 8 stone for 75 funds, or 9.375 funds per stone (costs went up, not down). The top upgrade only nets .5 stone a day total over buying stone outright. It's absolutely abysmal. When you consider the amount of funds and materials for each upgrade, it would take years just to break even. You're better off just buying the resources. Taking your example of 6 timber over 7 days is more than 4...well it's not.. at least not for a long time. Woodcutter's base 4 timber x 7days = 28 timber 7 days x 25 upkeep = 175 funds Buying outright = 175 funds / 10 per timber = 17.5 timber Net Gain Per Day = 1.5 timber Woodcutter's 1st Upgrade 6 Timber x 7 days = 42 timber 7 days x 50 upkeep = 350 funds Buying outright = 350 funds / 10 per timber = 35 timber Net Gain Per Day = 1 timber At first this looks kind of ok. Less efficient than the base building, which makes no sense, but it's still more per week. Right? But we haven't factored in upgrade costs yet, 100 timber and 2500 funds. 2500 funds / 10 is 250 timber. So lets just say it cost 350 timber total to make the math easier (and we'll leave out the stone, even though that makes it worse). Before we can make a profit, we have to cover our original costs...and this is where it gets much worse. 350 timber / 1 net per day* = 350 days *only 1 here because the other 5 go straight to covering upkeep. 350 days to get back your 1st upgrade investment. If you upgrade again, it takes twice as long since the last upgrade is worse than the first (.5 net units means 700 days!).

    Lmfao, imagine a guide casually asking you to bring 500 gold bars like it is some tiny amount easily obtained. What a joke of a video You don't need anywhere near that much, in fact, you can come at 0 and do just fine. Adding your own money often isn't worth it short of getting early food to keep your people happy. When I did this, I came with like 20 gold for early capital and never once had an issue. People just like to complain and guides like this just further how "hard" this dlc is when in reality it isn't.

    Imagine not watching a video and then commenting on it. What a joke of a comment. The 500 gold is if you don't want to grind out samples for as long. Which I mention at least twice. Obviously you don't need any money at all because there is a ton of loot in that region to get you what you need. Also 500 gold is extremely easy to make in this game. Guides provide suggestions. If you don't like it, don't follow it. Simple as that.
