Yep the roundness of the belly also will get red/purple bellys too🙂👍🏻 sunburst also known as a dragonblood peacock theres alot of names for the same fish🙂 very nice tanks and fish! I breed dragonbloods very beautiful fish!

You should get a Fluval hang on the back filter. There great and works better then a sponge filter.

Already have two of them on other tanks (FLUVAL aqua clear 50 and 70)combined with a sponge they are great!! Quiet lots of flow I just currently only have sponge filter on that particular tank ..

At the 5:50 mark, I think that’s a star sapphire. Mine look JUST like that and are about the same size. But you won’t know until it colors up.

How much did it cost you to build that African cichlid tank? With all the decor and stuff I want one like that but not sure how much it’ll be..

I found the tank and stand on offer up for under $50, about $30 for the sand , $15 for the driftwood( not need for African cichlids as the prefer harder water), rocks from any local dollar store , the most you spend is on filtration and heating and that’s personal budget and preference, but remember with African cichlids you will be over stocking to control aggression so strong filtration is needed. But If I would do it over I would start with a bigger tank as the fish that are currently in the 40 gallon are going to out grow that tank in a couple months. Best of luck ✌🏾

It stays around 70 degrees due to the ambient temperature in my garage fluctuating here and there due to outside temperature
