In Bamberg it was not as dark during totality. This town is south of Orangeburg. The corona was huge and so bright I could only see one planet.

Notice how NASA did not cover the 2017 eclipse. NASA did more talking about the eclipse then actually dedicating camera coverage time of the eclipse. The more they talked and not show the 2017 eclipse the more disappointed I became of NASA's coverage. NASA gave an example of how not to cover the eclipse. ABC action news and The New York Times have now Examples of how to do the eclipse coverage right. NASA was disappointing.

Here in Dallas it looked like late afternoon for awile at the peak of the evlipse around 1:20 pm but it didnt get dark. There were scattered large fluffy clouds overhead so you could not get a really good view of the corona. I was so disappointed.

You can't see the corona except during totality. You will need to wait until 2024 when the next total eclipse passes over Dallas.

WERNER VON BRAUN was a former Nazi party member who worked at NASA, so ANTIFA may want him erased from history too! Von Braun helped the US against the Russians by developing rocketry, missiles, and the space program. The Loons at ANTIFA will now have every rocket at NASA taken down. and at SpaceX too!

A women says she and her friend have been planning this since she was TEN and right as totality hits, the news guy sticks a microphone in her face and ask her questions and she turns away from it and spends the time to answer him. If it were me they guy would be walking with a limp now. 2.24 or so.. Saw this a bunch today. PRIORITIES people!!

Mark R actually is not, but it happens to be at the exact distance to cover the sun if you happen to be in earth.

the sun does not look four hundred times further away than the moon, not saying anything beyond that, but it doesn't!

Doesn't make any sense 🙄 how come the moon it's so damned dark when it comes close to the sun .... But then you can see it clearly bright when it's half and full moon. And that moon is full by the way. People won't get it and will never do

It's actually not that complicated -- try this. Get a single source of bright light, like the flashlight on your smartphone or a regular flashlight, okay that represents the sun. Make sure the room is dark. Set the light in one place like a table. Take a small ball like a golf ball or tennis ball, that represents the moon. Hold up the golf ball at arm's length at different points around the room -- that's the phases of the moon, as you move around -- full, half, quarter, etc. You're seeing it because it's reflecting the sunlight back at you -- the moon isn't a light source on it's own. Now move the ball directly between your eyes and the bright light -- your moon has just eclipsed the sun. But you notice all you see of it is a silhouette just because of how bright the sun is. That phase is called a "new moon", because it's the phase where the moon is in the daytime sky but not visible because it's overpowered by the sun. Sometimes, when the orbits line up the right way, the moon covers the sun either partially or totally - that's what just happened the other day.
