You can tell it's Rescue 1 just by the amount of long constant air horn before you see a truck. They don't mess round. They lay on that horn Like it is the breathe of god.I always admired the no hold back full throttle approach of them. And all of FDNY.

Staten island turned E 154 in Squad 8 and it's in service

I've seen both trucks of squad 41 respond with EQ2B (seagrave truck) And Federal Q (Freightliner Truck, The second piece of squad 41) right in front of me. And last week, I saw Rescue 3 responding with Federal Q right next to my house and the street is really narrow. I was surprised that Rescue 3 can fit through my narrow street in the Bronx!

Poor Rescue 1, sounds like they need to get their air horn fixed/replaced. They get so many calls. Also Rescue 2 has some major lighting issues. Great shots as always, man!

What rescue company does staten island have

How come the Squad companies of the FDNY were never given quints to use? I mean, they're supposed to be trained in all aspects of firefighting, so why not give them all the tools and equipment they need to do all those jobs right up front?

Idk if you know or not but FDNY uses Squads as engines for versatility. They act in rescue roles and normal firefighting actives more sorta. Plus each squad company I believe has a 2nd piece truck that most times is just parked behind the main Squad truck. It carries much more equipment. Together the main squad truck and its second piece, it probably carries nearly the equivalent of one of FDNYs recuses but with the flexibly to preform engine roles. This frankly is my best guess

A SQUAD BASICALLY CAN BE A ENGINE OR SQUAD WHEN NEEDED AND DEPENDING ON THE CALL AND SITUATION BRANDON.....IT SERVES LIKE A MINI RESCUE AT TIMES AND THEN ENGINE WHEN NEEDED.....THANKS SO MUCH.....

What’s difference in the rescue and the squad guys ? Just more rescue level firemen on an engine instead of a rescue truck ? I wish they’d make a series or something

THEMAJESTIRIUM1 their purpose is to back up the rescue companies. Basically a dual purpose truck. They can do tech rescue or firefighting. They are basically just Rescue Pumpers.
