Thank you for this. Found this video over the weekend. I had decided that on Monday I’d be running on the runner at the gym. I had just told another runner at the gym that I couldn’t. I can’t run on the runner. That ate at me all weekend. Not going to live with telling myself I can’t do stuff. I dislike the regular treadmill, hurts my feet and legs. I’m Florida and before long very hot days are comes and summer storms. I need to get use to running indoors for times it’s not safe to be outside. I ran on it Monday, decide my Thursday (today) run would be on it. Need to get comfortable. Your video helped. Even did the high knees and butt kicks, which I’ve never done. I’m 48 and started running just under 7 months ago. Never athletic, never physical active besides family walks. I beat my 5k time today and on the runner!!!!! New goal it to get under 30 minutes. You helped do much. Thank you for this video!!

I saw that you guys have a trueform runner as well. Do you train mostly on the assault because that is what crossfit uses or do you think it is a better treadmill. Thinking of adding a treadmill to my training, but I'm torn on which one to get. It looks like the monitor is more useful on the assault.

A treadmill is powered by a motor/pulley system. Am I understanding this correctly by what you are saying, "you have to concentrate pulling the treads" the assault runner is powered by the runner? So, the runner is in control of the speed? How cool is that, less chance of injury! Pulling the treads, I guess it would engage more muscles than running outside? It seems assault runner/running outside has it advantages/disadvantages. Great video. Keep them coming. Have you thought about acting/modeling for Milo, he's a natural! 😊

You are correct, The assault runner does not have a motor, the runner pulls the tread. It is quite challenging and quite cool! I love it because it also forces me to maintain a speed rather than rely on the motor. And Milo is hilarious.

I love to run and CrossFit. I am struggling with my breathing during both. I don’t know how you and most people can control your breathing. I always sound like I am dying. I have been running for over ten years so I am not new to it. CrossFit for just one year. Please tell me there are tricks to help me control my breathing during any type of run and a WOD. Thank you. Try to focus on relaxing and forcing yourself to start by breathing through your nose instead of your mouth. This will help keep our heart rate from redlining from the start and allow It to slowly climb

Could you use something like a resistance band, so that you get some kind of feedback to your position? You then don't need to be as aware of your position relative to the uprights, because the resistance band will give you a physical cue to your position, making it easier to subconsciously control it? I have no idea if this would work. Just came up with it now 😁

Have you already built a base of mileage or are you hitting these intensity sessions off of just crossfit metcons etc? Advising people just to do intense intervals will surely be counterproductive and potentially increase injuries and massive fatigue?
