A standard Hellcat with a 15 round magazine is the same height as advertised height of the Pro, I measured mine. And the 15 round magazine has a grip ring on it that is removable, so it looks like those mags will fit in the Pro

And as someone with lots of XD models of .45, the comfort issue of a longer magazine isn’t an issue and won’t generally cause a feed issue. I don’t know why the OP is saying not to use them, why would I waste money and go buy more magazines that will only fit one gun when there might be occasions to carry both if you have them…. And I have aftermarket 25 round magazines that I bought to carry with my five inch barrel XD when in bear country (I have land in Alaska), should I not use them if I don’t have those plastic collars? Should I not use them in my 4 inch or my mod 2? Seeing quickly why I don’t subscribe to this gun channel! Don’t tell me not to do something just because you work for a company that sells mags and you want them to sell me fifty more mags to carry…. TELL US IF IT WORKS OR NOT!

My wife loves her standard Hellcat. I’m excited to try this Pro.

I run my original Hellcat with 15 round mags that have come with the grip adaptor so you get the longer grip with no gap.

I have a standard Hellcat with three others in my family. Quickly got used to the kick because of shorter barrel. I did replace the trigger for a smoother pull. Now shotting cup sized wholes at seven and ten wit the RMs sight. Great carry. I tried the P365 next to the Hellcat, nice gun would own it.

I have both the original micro and the pro. I just figured out that you can install the pro slide on the micro frame giving you a better shooting pistol cut for a red dot but with the smaller footprint for concealment 🎉🎉🎉

Ammo is coming back albeit at higher prices. But now we can’t afford the gas to get to the range!

I think the only real advantage you get with the Pro is a better sight radius and slightly reduced recoil, due to the longer barrel

IDK how old this video is but the original Hellcat now has a 15rd magazine with the sleeves on it. And the magazines are the same so that 15 Rd will function in the original. The pro is a hundred dollars extra for optics ready ones but can't go wrong with either one because they're both excellent concealed carry guns

I like both but prefer the Original for my daily carry as it is a little more compact. its actually very close in size to my other carry gun the LCP max I wont give up the extra size just for a couple more rounds. if I could open carry here then I might go with the pro.

Of course, capacity is only one difference, and in my opinion a rather unimportant one. After all, the probability of any lawful armed citizen requiring even half of the Hellcat’s 11+1 capacity to resolve a defensive encounter are exceedingly remote. On the other hand, the extra 0.7 inches of barrel length will near-certainly provide greater terminal velocity, energy and projectile expansion. In addition, the longer sight radius tends to facilitate better accuracy.

Exactly.

Pro has a manual safety now. However, it's only offered on the black version. Not available on the desert FDE (brown) version.

I like how there is a RPG chilling in the gun safe in the background lol.

I want the standard short grip with the Pro length slide. Maybe I'll just chop my Xdm.

Lol, a Hellcat XL... it worked for the Sig 365, it will work for the Springfield Hellcat too! I think people will buy this gun, just for fun.

To the people saying they just made it bigger and harder to carry concealed. It's still the same size as the hellcat with the extended magazine and maybe .75" longer barrel. Overall it looks like a better fit for people with larger hands.

The thing is using a standard hellcat frame with 13/15 rounders let's you achieve the same goal, while still letting you go smaller if you want to. I think the RDP makes the most sense. Longer barrel, full magazine compatibility, and a compensator to top it off.

I have smaller hands, to me the standard Hellcat feels good, and I like the 3" barrel. If I want a more standard gun, I'd just take out my CZ or Barretta. Im in Comifornia so I only get 10 rounds anyways

One other difference is the trigger guard on Pro is thinner then standard Hellcat OSP. Just bought the Pro and the laser that came with standard will not fit on Pro.

I’m disappointed that you didn’t mention the filler collar that goes on the 15rd magazine for added grip length on a regular Hellcat.

I’ll take my sub compact Hellcat all day the point of it being made was to be more concealable… but i would get a pro for home defense

I love the way the grip feels in the hand, but the Hellcat original beats up my hand when shooting it. Very snappy! Much more so than the P365, Shield Plus…

The Pro is probably a lot more enjoyable to shoot than the standard Hellcat due to additional weight plus the grip and slide length.

one nitpick, it's produced by HS Produkt, (model h11, it's just marketed in the USA under teh springfield armory brand as the hellcat, but give credit to the real manufacturer), springfield didn't "make" anythihng, although I do believe they probably requested this version and the rdp

I'll stick with the smaller, rounder, and very excellent original Hellcat.

Is the barrel from the RDP interchangeable with the PRO? Since it comes with a threaded barrel it says both barrels are 3.8 inches but the RDP has a compensator.

I am a Sig guy but prefer the Hellcat frankly. I had a SAS and dumped it as i could not load ten rounds into the mag for pocket carry. I am getting a Ruger LCP Max instead (yeah, I know .380).

I would like to know more about the L.A.W. or bazooka in safe. 😎

So they make big guns, small guns for better concealability . Then they make those small guns, big guns, for better shootability. I guess it works, but if you're going to carry the pro or XL , especially with a red dot, then it's really only good for OWB

Can you confirm if the pro “upper” fits on and fires on a standard hellcat “lower” (w manual safety if can)

Magazines are "easy to get" after a product has been on the market a while. I couldn't get spare mags for my S&W Shield Plus for a few months. They're available now, but the gun has been out for several months.

Yes. I own the original Hellcat and with the factory extended magazine either 13 or 15 rounds you do feel a slight wobble, it doesn’t really bother me. Now with the 11 round and pinky extension it feels more stable the firearm itself is great after a few months of making my purchase the Pro became available, I’m not upgrading because I really don’t see the need but this is just me not speaking for anyone else and I have a kydex holster extra longer than the firearm which makes it balance just right.

I agree completely. I bought the original Hellcat to be what it is compact. If I wanted to carry a bigger gun I'd go full size with my Beretta 9mm or Xd .45

You are stating the obvious. It's supposed fill a different role. It's a lighter, thinner, more concealable alternative to a Glock 19 that allows for a longer sight radius and more velocity. It has a similar footprint and the same exact capacity as a G19 sized gun.

How does the grip feel between the two, with the extend mag in the original? The original is just too skinny, front to back for me.

Given its 15+1 capacity, a size comparison to a Glock 19 would be illuminating.

Same here, especially since you can remove the comp so easy and run flush mags to make a smaller pkg if needed.

I usually use a clip holster like the technaclip or the clipdraw. My question is would the clip draw holster that would fit the regular micro hellcat fit the hellcat pro as well?

It will! The Hellcat pros trigger guard is actually a little wider than the original, but it still fits my standard Hellcat trigger holster and even regular holsters with some repetitions to loosen it up

Have they ever fixed the trigger issue. There is a very important video out regarding the trigger when you apply just a little bit of pressure to one side then try to pull trigger you can not. Think your blood is pumping you grab your firearm to use and the trigger does not move. I also think Springfield need to take a look at the XD/XDM with grip safety. I grab bed one quickly and went to fire and gun didn’t go off cause I didn’t have web of hand completely disengaging the grip safety although this NEVER happens with a 1911 of some sort. I think they need to have the safety protrude more . Other then that awesome pistol(s) .

The Hellcat did NOT have any trigger issues. On person who continues to complain about it was pushing the trigger on purpose sideways to cause an issue.

Use the flush fit mag on the standard Hellcat to show the height difference not that stupid 13 extended one. Maybe you can tell us the barrel length?

Does the small one have noticeably more recoil?

You can add a pinky rest to the clip

I spent the whole video just staring at that anti-tank rocket launcher in his safe... lol

But why wouldn't the whole slide, with the barrel,be interchangable? My xdm 4.5 and 3.8 interchange slides just fine. I am not sticking the short barrel in the longer slide and vice versa ofc, but it works just fine. And the hellcat with the standard grip and longer slide and barrel would be a perfect combo imo. I'd certainly get one of those.

As for me and many of my friends, really most will not own a gun that their finger hangs off the end of the grip. I feel I shouldn't have to make a gun fit my hand by buying another mag. As far a CC goes people either go way overboard with this so called printing thing or some States have very strict gun laws and shake people down if someone sees a line in a persons shirt. I went with the 365 XL because it fit my hand and the Hellcat didn't. Now with the Hellcat Pro I would be willing to give it a try. I carry my 365 XL with the stock 15 round mag and a 15 round back up and have never heard or seen anyone running around screaming OMG I think that man has a gun, his shirt printed something.

I think the most stark comparison is between the Hellcat and the Army's old M9 pistol. They both have the same capacity and shoot the same round but the Hellcat is just so much smaller. That's 5 decades of progress.

So pretty much a hellcat osp with the Springfield factory 15 round mag is the same exact thing except you have an option to make it more concealable… no thanks

You can actually interchange the regular hellcat slide onto the Pro frame.

I've used steel case Russian ammo in my original Hellcat...all I could get at some points during Covid and the gun worked just fine.

Nice gun. Many new nice sidearms. But not much difference over a Glock or other established competitor. Choice is good, be satisfied for what you spend your money on. Buy more than 1.

I kept my Hellcat OSP and dumped the 365XL because of the size difference. Other than maybe the PDP, I won't get the PRO. No point.

I read its not good to use a pistol mag without the plastic ring to act like a buffer. At least thats what S&W says. That bottom lip on a magazine also acts like a stop.

Not sure about this gun, but well designed guns have a stop at the top of the magazine that hits the frame of the gun which makes over insertion impossible. See Glock, Sig, Beretta, etc. I've never checked an M&P, but I would be surprised if they don't have that too. If they said that in a manual or something, it could just be legalese pasted in by one of their oh-so-important legal team.

Nice but Just buy the 15 round mag for the original and give you 2 size capabilities and save $600
