I was learning about the F/A-18 the other day and learned about the frontal LERX, just realise the JF-17 has that too, it means it will help it with higher angles of attack. Pretty cool. I wouldn't under estimate the JF-17 block 3. It's actually an advantage that the aircraft has been maturing over a long period of time since the block 1 variant. It means that it's been thoroughly tested in real world use and upgrades aside, it's been tweaked, tuned and balanced a lot more over time. It'll take time for the Tejas to get that. It'll take a lot of real use and feedback from pilots for those kinds of improvements.

No can do. Pakistan hasn't achieved any worth appreciating for. JF-17 is chinese design and is created by chinese company. They literally just assemble JF-17 in Pakistan and it's said that JF-17 design is copied from a Russian Jet. Tejas on the other hand is an indigenous Indian design even most parts are also manufactured in India only. We just use engine, radar and some other things of other countries and even for that, it's not like India didn't tried to make. India made Indigenous Kaveri engine but it wasn't enough to power an aircraft like Tejas hence we used the American engine. It's only India who deserves all praises and appreciation for the all hard work they put behind this for decades.

Jf - 17 is a world class 10th generation fighter jet which can be detected as soon as it takes off in the air due to its metal air frame made by chengdu aircraft industry group. Even china also want this masterpiece in there air force but pakistan doesn't allow them to use there platform which is 40% in terms of overall manufacturing 👍

Russia needs missiles that attack far from their land (West Europe, North America or Baltic Nation). So it will Invest more money in long-distance missiles. Brahmos is a supersonic missile and cover a distance of 330km (For sure it doesn't work to cover ). That's the reason Russia doesn't use it and India doing researches and changes as per its requirement. Enemy of India it's neighbour so they need these missiles more than Russia.

The Tejas combat range can be increased with external drop to tanks using up one central hub along its fuselage, or two smaller tanks one under each wing, I'd design a better solution so no hard points are used freeing up all for weapons, bombs/air to air missiles etc...etc... solution, use the sake configuration as the old amazing, a crazy fast, British fighter interceptor, the English Electric Lightening, putting fuel tanks on tye top side of the wings, put small shoots to safely detach them regarding them allowing them to fall alway not hitting the aircraft, plus tye pilot could drop altitude by a few meters to fly out of area of concern away from detached tanks using retard shoots, or add a belly underneath the engine, for examples search English Electric Lightening, and you'll see how they increased it range over its lifetime.

@@hamzarehman9649 speculated the mbda meteor has an official no escape zone thats larger than the pl 15 which has a longer range so kinda complicated that . and the pl 15 is not meant for heavy ew environments like jammers and as such the meteor is designed for that .tejas mk 2 is equipped with meteor . also u know its not even india s best fighter so why bother not even second best.

Tejas is just a 4+ gen fighter but JF-17 is 93000 Gen fighter powered by a nuclear reactor and weight more than Nimitz Class aircraft carrier (100,000+ tones) and can carry every misile that earth have. Even it's cruise speed is more than speed of light and Pakistan trying to use it as a Time Travel Machine.

See its a light combat aircraft, you have to compare it with aircrafts in its class and see kind of weapon package it offers.. Just read about PL-15 & PL-10 missiles. No other aircraft in this category and price range offers such massive capabilities of extreme long ranges and high offbore sight weapons

Jab JF-17 aur Tejas ke bhich ladai hogi to Tejas ke pilot ko mehnat bhi nahi karni padegi. Tejas ke radars ye 200 km pe 2 qms ke targets track kar sakhta hai jabki JF-17 ke radar ye 150-200 km par 5 qms ke target track kar sakhta hai. Tejas ka cross section ye 0.5 qms hai jabki JF-17 ka cross section 8-10 qms hai. JF-17 sirf dhunte rehjayega aur Tejas use dur se mar bhi gira dega.😂😂

Overexaggerated Combat Range/ Radius of JF-17. It's combat radius don't have any much difference with Tejas'. The Rule of Thumb states that Combat Radius is always calculated with 1/3rd of Ferry Range (full internal fuel, no external fuel tanks, empty hardpoints and on efficient dry thrust). Also, Combat Radius is Dynamic in nature depending upon the payload onboard and mission-type respectively, and if it involves refueling as well) You can also compare Tejas & JF-17's internal fuel capacity and the mileage of both the engines to find approx ferry range. And you will find Tejas do have more ferry range.

JF17 has been flying for quite some time out of state of the art facilities in Pakistan and China, actively took part in successful bombing missions during anti terror ops, including one deep inside india, they have had exports orders, they have been turning heads at Air shows and the program has block building. It's a methodical program I wud say. The block 3 version was what I was waiting for. And it's there nowq, without the fanfare, quietly sharpening their edge over the adversaries. Tejas have yet to grind their salt.

Top 3 pilots are US, Israel and Russian/British. IAF are one of the best in the world in 4th position. But PAF has get good recognition worldwide after shut down an IAF Mig 21. Bare in mind that the PAF has shut down an old and outdated Soviet aircraft. I guarantee you if the IAF were using another fighter like Su30mki or Mirage I don't think the PAF pilot would be able to shot it down

Tejas is truly a cost effective light combat marvel which has only downside of Combat range. Again since indian Airforce doesn't need high combat range since it's enemies are border related so its not necessary

TEJAS will be a better option on a longrun for the countries which planned to buy LCA, certain features like GE Engine and durability will play crucial role and JF-17 is Chinese make which is assembled in pakistan any future upgrade on it will be depending on china's R&D, Pakistan can never sell JF-17 without mentioning Chinese origin of the product.

Tejas program has been dragged on for way too long. Even now it is still not combat-ready yet. It comes with a frame design from France nearly thirty years ago and is constantly trying to add this and that different weapon systems onto this platform. It could be a very decent lightweight fighter, but the Indians kept wanting it to do everything. Come on, this is only India's second fighter design and they should seriously be patient about it.

It depends on the skill of pilot. A good and experienced pilot can make old Mig or Mirage in to F-35 or SU-35 and incompetent and bad pilot can make F-35 or SU-35 in to old Mig or Mirage. According to past war experience PAF pilot are more experienced and well trained than IAF.

Combat range is a bit of a worry for Tejas but since it's primary role was intended to be point defence I'd say it's fullfiling its mission. Secondly it's a scalable platform. The real comparison can be done only when Tejas completes it's Indegenous weapon and radar integration untill which it lacks teeth (firepower). Jf -17 on the other hand was chosen to be a jack of all trades for PAF. It might not be class leading but it fulfills PAF's needs irrespective of it being best or worst. Also it's been operational and weaponised so gotta admit the fact that currently it has edge over Tejas on a combat scenario. Realistically speaking JF-17 is operational while Tejas is almost at a maturing phase. So unless it's completely weaponised and integerated comparing it with any fighter is illogical. But as a defence ethusiast I'd like to see how the JF-17 block 3 and Tejas Mk2 fairs on comparison and combat as those variants the real deal for the both the fighters.

The official combat range of tejas is beyond 500,but hasn't been tested yet.The General electric motor is fuel efficient compared to that old Russian engine,also not to forget it's made by china for other countries which means it might have made some compromises on quality of components.

I understand the patriotism but factually the world has only reached to 5th Gen and those are f 22 raptor and SU 57(technically) also add f35. 6th gen is on the way and probably won't be needed since world has come far with ballistic missiles.

Each time the Tejas participated in an air show, the Pakistani team cancelled their JF17 participation, ceded participation fee and ran away 2) The Chinese do not use it and only export to poor countries 3) The all metal airframe has poor manufacturing quality resulting in an availability of approx 40% for Pakistan Air Force 4) Even after buying 150 of jf17 the PAF still relies mainly on the American f16 and has also started buying Chinese J10 fighter aircrafts 5) JF17 Block 1 and 2 do not have AESA radar, no in flight refueling, only two dimensional fly by wire, all metal body causing high weight, low thurst weight ratio, older electronics and only Chinese weapons to fire 6) The newer block 3 jf17 variant has a cheaper air cooled AESA radar unable to operate at max power and hence lower range. Further, block 3 retains the same Russian rd93 based engines, uses cheaper air cooled AESA radar and same metal body and build quality

That one was a mistake. He gave us max combat range for JF 17 and Combat radius for Tejas. Both are different values.

JF-17 is not combat radius. It is full range with drop tanks/extra fuel. Combat radius is measured without drop tanks. With drop tanks Tejas will have much more range than JF-17. It is chinese strategy to show range instead of combat radius to boost sales.

And some Gobarbakhts will say USA will not accept it because it will affect F-16 market. My dumb friend, US air force lost 2 F-16s to Iraqi Air Defenses and Pentagon acknowledged it. US Air Force will continue to operate F-16s by 2050 as per official documents. Are they crazy? If IAF really shot down an F-16 with a Mig-21 then Pentagon should have launched an investigation into it so that improvements could made in US Air Force F-16 fleet and if not possible, then they should be retired.

When comparing the two jet fighters, it is a well known fact that bananas are high in potassium

See the sales statistics of both the fighters..Jf17 is a complete package just two countries are providing you with each and every weapon and spare parts while Tejas' ejection seat is British, fuel prop is Swedish, radar is Israeli, powerplant is American. Due to embargoes by above countries you can't sell it to most of the countries. Above all most of the weapons on Teja are yet to be configured with the jet, even there is huge ambiguity about Tejas' weapon collection. And air forces know that even if Teja became that lethal yet procurement of it's spare parts would be great headache even for Indian air force.

Now let's take a look at the JF-17 , ejection seat is British , radar is italian(block 3 has Chinese made radar) powerplant is Chinese, engines of jf-17 is made in Russia and most of the weapons used in jf-17 are made in Russia or china .

@@Riazor1370 That's interesting. If you're talking about Argentina, they weren't offered Tejas in the first place & they are not buying CHINESE JF-17 either. Tejas hasn't had a single crash in over 1000 sorties, how many JF-17 have crashed recently? But sure, Tejas is "crap" and Chinese jets that have had multiple crashes recently are not, makes sense. Btw, no one has been offered any "discounts" to buy Tejas, China had to give JF-17 for free though. IF Argentina agrees to buy Chinese JF-17, it'll be their decision, but they can't buy Tejas even if they wanted to because we aren't planning to offer it to them. Pakistanis don't read much, do they?

Tejas is 22 century fighter..whose pilots generation has long to take birth to fly it.

Jf-17 is cheap but it's mostly due to less composite material in the airframe and Chinese parts being cheaper

Dear Mr. Niazi, you happen to be making false claims, only those poor nations are buying up on jf17 which do not have a better choice for lack of money or denial of technology or both. Pakistan is one, Nigeria and Myanmar happen to be the other two out of which Pakistan is the only one buying numbers, the other two air forces have only ordered one or two squadrons. And as I have mentioned above the Pakistani Air Force is already regretting their decision. While their intelligence does come under suspicion the Chinese are quite clear when it comes to jf17, they are not buying it, period. Why would the Chinese not buy their own aircraft if it really happened to be such a good platform and only export it to countries considered as 3rd rate even by the Chinese standard. You have made another false claim wrt the Indian Air Force rejecting the Tejas displaying your lack of knowledge.
