John Quincy Adams (July 11, 1767 - February 23, 1848) was an American politician, diplomat, lawyer, and journalist who served as the sixth President of the United States from 1825 to 1829. He previously served as the eighth United States Secretary of State from 1817 to 1825. During his long diplomatic and political career, Adams served as an ambassador and also as a member of the United States Congress representing Massachusetts in both chambers. He was the eldest son of John Adams, who served as the second president of the United States from 1797 to 1801, and first lady Abigail Adams. Originally a Federalist like his father, he won the presidency as a member of the Democratic-Republican Party and later affiliated with the Whig Party in the mid-1830s.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 - November 22, 1963) was an American politician who served as the 35th President of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. Kennedy was 43 years old when he began his presidency, making him the youngest president in the history of the United States. His presidency coincided with the height of the Cold War, and most of his administration's activities were centered around relations with the Soviet Union and Cuba. Before his presidency, Kennedy represented Massachusetts in Congress and the Senate as a Democrat.
James Madison, Jr. (born March 16, 1751 - died June 28, 1836) was an American politician who was the fourth president of the United States from 1809 to 1817. Along with John Jay and Alexander Hamilton, Madison was the author of the Federalist Articles and is one of the authors of the United States Constitution. Madison strongly believed that checks and balances could help protect liberty in a great republic. He was also the shortest president in the history of the United States of America.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) was the 32nd President of the United States. He was able to defeat Herbert Hoover by a large margin in the elections of that year. His series of meetings with Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin established the foundations of the post-World War II world. It was America's involvement in World War II that gave him the opportunity to be elected president 4 times, which is an exception in American history. He died in 1945 in the second year of his fourth presidential term, just three weeks after the end of World War II in Europe.
Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (born November 20, 1942) is an American politician who will serve as the 46th President of the United States from 2021. He, who is a member of the Democratic Party, was the 47th Vice President of the United States of America from 2009 to 2017 under the presidency of Barack Obama, and represented the state of Delaware in the United States Senate from 1973 to 2009.
