Let’s be honest here in the whole franchise of Pokémon, Gen 8 was done so dirty

The move “Judgement” got it REAL bad too.

They also did dirty to Zacian signature move😢

Inteleon had the best one tbh, now if u look at it, it looks like friezas finger beams.

Animations that took too long. Like hyper beam. It was cut down intentionally and I for one am glad.

Fun fact (and someone can fact check me): these animations are actually re-used! If any pokemon uses a signature move that is not that pokemon (i.e. a non-Cinderace using Pyro ball via methods like transform, mimic, or copycat) it will use a different animation in Sword and Shield - the same ones that are seen in Scarlet and Violet! This was not in issue in Sun and Moon with regards to signature moves being used by the non-singature pokemon, where the animations were the same no matter what pokemon used it.

To be fair, they seem to not be showing Intelion some love. Hopefully his appearance in Unite makes fans like him more.

they really did these starters dirty as a whole. they also lacked secondary typings which really degraded them ngl

They wanted to make the animations shorter cause they got complaints of them taking too long

This is why we need a dedicated battle sim

Yea they destroyed zamzentas special move for it having an amazing animashion for it just a tackle with red tint

Well, Rillaboom wasn't done dirty enough with this compared to others, that's why they removed so many of his good moves lol

Hopefully once everything is out they might do a attack animation rework

I’m great full at least these Pokémon got added into the game but it’s sad inteleon’s snipe shot doesn’t look as intense as it was back in sword and shield

Don't forget, Inteleon's ability Sniper goes best with Focus Energy and a Scope Lens, which guarantees critical hits every time. And guess which TM didn't make a return in Scarlet and Violet, even after two DLCs? Yep, Focus Energy. They really hate Inteleon.

He got it back in the first DLC. Unlike Inteleon, who didn't get Focus Energy back after BOTH DLCs!

Probably just didn’t want the past starters to outshine the new one

I cannot believe we're at such a low point in Pokemon that we're now calling SWSH animations "amazing" Fuck the mainline team we need whoever made Legends Arceus to work on a openworld game and actually have it set in modern times

Eh legends arceus was a pretty boring game

Remember how they used "We worked really hard on the animations" as an excuse for a reduced Pokedex in Gen8? Then we found out most animations were the same as before, these 3 were some of the few that looked like they had actual work put on them. Now there's nothing left.

They pretty much removed one of Eternautuses signature moves all together! I got him to level 91 for a reason!

I was so exited for ciderace raids and thats what i get

Delphox lost its stick, and chesnaught losts its shield spike☹️

Rillaboom got done dirty by losing all his best moves, forget the stupid animation argument

Yah they did last to long but they looked great from start to finish

Me personally don’t want a 10 second animation on a move

It's still baffling that PLA came out first and is likely on the exact same engine build as S/V but PLA is lightyears better in terms of animations

I don't get why people don't get Intellion, it's James Pond

Yeah scarlet and violet can have open world and better 3d models but in terms of animation, moves, looks, art style and graphics it can never beat sword and shield. After seeing SV even as a dye heart pokemon fan, i feel like palworld is the GOAT.

He doesn't close his eyes, he closes one eye to take aim. Also, I didn't really care for the signature moves, they took way too long. I get the G-Max moves taking long but seeing the signature move for the 100th time is just painful. They were the reason I turned off move animations mid way through.

They soed them up for competition.

ooof, they destroyed any hope for Rillaboom to have a nice move pool, and now they sucked the life out of the signature moves. I understand if its to shave a few seconds off of a battle, but it adds that anime drama feeling to the battle.

People bitched so much about Gen 8 having "bad animations", yet Scarley and Violet come around to show what truly lazy and boring animations look like. Battles put me to sleep in this game, was such a dumb idea sacrificing cool move animations just to have a free camera.

The old ones, specifically pyro ball, took entirely too long. The new ones don't bother me.

You ain't. Even in the overworld it looks better. The Wild Areas and Towns look so vibrant in SWSH. The Wild Areas in the DLCs in particular look stunning. ScVi's areas just aren't memorable at all and don't look good.
