Great video man! I’ve always been a big fan of Fox. Think they make a quality product.

Thank you. I’m a big fan of them too just with all the Prices going up so much I was hoping foa would be ok but definitely not lol

Great comparison! Pretty easy to throw out the ol' saying of "You get what you pay for" with this video. Don't forget you got FREE custom tuning with those Fox shocks ;) instead of generic valving.

Oh trust me I haven’t forgot :) I’ve gone thru you guys for years. I actually lived near you guys in El Cajon until recently lol decided to try to do a budget build to start my KZread channel and inadvertently showed everyone how accurate the ol’ saying really is 😂

Can you compare cost? Also how can the retainer fallout at drop if your strapped? Straps save you shocks life

The foa were about 950 for the pair and the fox were 1220. Yes straps save a shocks life for sure but what I’m talking about with the retainer it all comes down to how much spring pressure you have at full extension with somthing like my yj there won’t be much. I like look at it in the “is it possible” aspect, and with the slip in style it’s possible.

What's your desired frame height? And what weights are you running on springs? I'm planning on 16" shocks, with 5" of up travel and 22-23" frame height, and by the looks of it, I'm going to need a super soft set of springs. 100/150 is what I'm guessing, however accutune will obviously make a better decision than me lol. (I'm a coilover newbie, I know nothing, just learning as I go).

With only 5” up I would run 14” to keep the springs in check max downtravel I have found to be useful and without problems is 9” plus the issues with driveshaft binding I’m sure some will disagree tho. The way I have the rear built right now I will have 6 up and a belly hight of 23-24 if I can make that work I’ll probably move the 14” set up to the front and run 16s in the rear if I end up with 5 I’ll keep the 14s in back and match them up front

Oh and as far as the spring rates I have 100/150 for now just to use for set up and to use to determine the jeeps corner weights then change them out with the correct spring of ther wrong. I’m planing on making a video showing how I do it when I get the towers on and the coilovers mounted

@KBWheelin I'm still undecided on top of axle or side of the axle, that will probably be my determining factor. I'm also running a 104" wheelbase, front is only stretched by 1 or 2 inches.

I’m running my brackets off the back of the axle and will have my towers about 2” through the tub. The top of my axle makes contact with the tub with 6 1/2 inches of uptravel with my belly hieght at 23-24”. I am going to figure out my overall wheel base when I get started on the front I’m not going full hydro on this build so I am going to see what I can do moving the steering box forward but without moving the front axle I will sit at about the same as you I’m 10 inches of stretch in the rear so 103.4
