I can't even begin to explain how massive of an impact Sonic Adventure has had on my life. There was a Dreamcast demo disc I have from forever ago, and on it was a demo of Sonic Adventure. Emerald Coast was the one and only level for the demo, and I think that's probably the level I connect with the most across all gaming I've ever done. Everything from the visuals to the music to the amazing movement of Sonic in SA1 just feels perfect to me and evokes such a deep emotional feeling that makes me never want to leave that place. I'm still there mentally to this day and every time I get to go into any beachy environment, I hear the Emerald Coast music in my head and I think it's solidified my preference in environments forever. I dont think any game will ever top SA1 for me just from the pure love I have for the game, and the same goes for a lot of Dreamcast games. They all felt like they were somehow connected and had similar vibes even though they were super wacky and very imaginative and different, and in some instances, they did connect with various references and Easter eggs across tons of Sega games. I'd love to see a Flandrew video on old stuff like the Dreamcast or DC games. Also had a ton of great memories and feelings with super mario sunshine but not to the extent of SA1. Gave me a super good nostalgia rush with this one Flandrew, thank you.

@@icravedeath.1200 sort of but a lot of the world's had different environments like lava and water and ice and so forth. There was technically a space like theme but each planet was kind of its own thing. I'm talking about like just for example a Mario game where all levels are snow themed or something along those lines.

I'm glad to see The Simpsons Hit & Run made the list! The Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, and any Mario Kart beach track are usually what comes to mind first for summer games. Another game with two nice summer places is Twilight Princess, with Lake Hylia and the summer fishing hole. The Seaside Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey and Lurelin Village from Zelda BotW/TotK are two current gen games I would add. This was a fun video. 😎

More and more, I like to play games that are full themed for summer and winter seasons, it's pretty immersive. Last summer, I played the really cool indie "Dordogne" and also "Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation", the first title in the Boku no Natsuyasumi ('My Summer Vacation') series to be released outside of Japan. On that note, the second Boku no Natsuyasumi, released on PS2, has been recently patched and translated in English.
