Test drove the 2022 MB 350 GLE last week. Fell in love with the car. Received my car of choice in one week. This my 6th MB over a 20 year period. Love the looks 21 inch wheels and great gas mileage. 25 gal tank. With the high price of gasoline now.. this is a big Game Changer. The ride is excellent and you get most of the luxury features found in their big sedans. Being able to receive in one week my color choice with all the necessary options I wanted with 21 inch 5 spoke wheels and a smaller engine was a no brainer.

The air suspension on the X5 was set way too high, did u do that intentionally to make it appear uglier compared to the GLE?

That's not LED on the x5, it was LASER light.

I like the front end, stance and interior of the merc. Current car is an M550i but would def cross shop the two of these. I would think the BMW has a sportier driving feel to it and I like the back end and double tail gate. A nice feature you don't see on too many vehicles.

I’ve had the gle350 same package n I’m ready to return it. Lots of little tech issues . Going over bumps I feel like the whole car shifts ..

I have a 2023 BMW X5 xDrive45e and so far I'm very happy. It is robust, feels sporty and strong, drives like a bull and has quality all around. My friend has a Mercedes GLE 350 and also drives and looks good but is more soft, standard 4 Cyl and the unified screen replaced many buttons. I had the option to buy the BMW or the MB, but highly preferred the BMW. For me it looks much more sporty, more robust, comes with 3 yrs, included service and the best of all mine had a $7500 tax credit. I beliewe women will be more towards the MB and men towards the BMW,.

Thanks for this video and review. I enjoyed your commentary on the vehicles. I have been thinking about the GLE 350 or 450 4 Matic. The GLE looks better to me the BMW front grill on their vehicles I do not like as much. I am not familiar with the one you prefer. Have you done a test ride of the GLE that I can check out?

I think Mercedes is great for someone that prioritizes flare and flashy elegance… while BMW is great for someone who wants the best German luxury and an exciting driving experience too. For anyone comparing these two vehicles please test drive them both, you’ll see what I mean.

Both are good, you were not biased at all. That said I still prefer the Bimmer

I agree with you!

I give the win to the interior in the Merc, but that Bimmer will own that Merc in the better driving category.

nice to see them next to each other... the bmw lights are striking - both front and rear. the front of the merc is sharp and the amg line gives it an athletic stance. the back half of the merc is underwhelming though - looks like the ML of 20 years ago. as for interiors the merc doesn't seem to have much of a benefit for moving the gear selector up to the stalk, could use that space better. like that bmw has angled things back to the driver, after all it's a drivers' car. the merc interiors are always luxurious but looks a little tacky in places like the fake vents next to the screen. i'm sure it's an opulent experience but not sure it all fits together as cleanly as the bmw. fit follows function in these cars, the x5 is sporty and the merc is luxury - both are great vehicles and can't really go wrong

The X5 power difference to the merc swings it for me so much so I ordered one.

Thank you! My whole lot is hilly so the BMW is parked higher on the hill but the suspension is a little bit lowered. I would say on the standard models with standard suspension they would be equal.

Hi maybe you can help me I drove as a passenger and a BMW I have some disabilities I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hips and knees and it was easy to get into the BMW but I found it a little small and not so comfortable is the Mercedes a little wider and is it much taller would you say it’s harder or easier for a 5 foot woman to get into with disabilities this is my dealbreaker I truly love the Mercedes aesthetically wise but I need some thing but may be a few more grab bars to help get in and out of the vehicle I’m used to using a suburban but unfortunately it’s too tall for me now and too hard to get in and out of I’m also interested in something what air suspension would you recommend anything for me and the Mercedes line thank you

Hi! We do this a lot at the dealership - trying on vehicles to decide which one fits best. The GLE is super comfy and had great grab handles but is tall. The GLC has a much lower entry point but might not be cushy enough? You'll have to try getting in and out of both to see what fits!

Drove the GLE400d in the UK fully optioned. Was a horrendous drive wanted to turn around and take it back to the dealership after 20 mins. Ride and handling were poor even in air suspension. The ride crashed and fidgeted endlessly. Transmission tunnel intrusion was unacceptable in RHD. Driving the Cayenne was in contrast a wonderful experience. Drive the X5 45e in a couple of weeks will then make a decision. Wanted to like the Merc, but a flawed product.

Test drove a new GLE 350, I was really expecting to love it. Just the opposite though, the interior felt kind of cheap, and the drive, handling, everything really, felt like a bouncy mid-range caravan. The dash being very straight across with a kind of cheap looking steering wheel sticking out, it just reminded me of a old buick. Not saying everyone will love the X5, but it is much more refined, much better engine (IMHO), more reliable (read user reviews of the newer GLE's......), and definitely a more sporty drive. If you are looking to spend big $$ on a soccer parent car, the GLE maybe is a good choice.....

GLE FOR ME!

All automatic transmissions are electronically operated, why does any manufacturer still utilize a shift lever, whether on the steering column or the console? Push buttons do the job efficiently and don’t waste space. By the way, no contest in the physical appearance, the Mercedes Benz is much more attractive.

Benz needs to use less fake grills the ac vent looks weird to me and the fake lower front grill makes it look cheap lol. But I do love the Benz shifter screens and center console.

Bmw has as much fake grill/vents as mercedes...and the reason is because they dont have big powerful engines like gle63s or x5m has so they dont need that much air to cool them down. The fake went just makes it more aerodynamic and creates less drag. Thats the reason

Hands down GLE! Not even close.

The legroom on the right knee from the drivers prospective is almost that bad than in a Range Rover

For me the Mercedes GLE is the one.

This was more of a subjective review not objective....she clearly like the mercy better

For me the BMW tailgate is what I call a "DEAL BREAKER". Talk about seriously inconvenient, especially when putting in heavy groceries, cases of water, etc etc.

As a BMW owner, the exterior on a BMW is the hands down the best but the interior looks the same in a 2002 model as it does in the 2023. The Mercedes interior looks a 1,000% better.

I really want to love the GLE but like it was said above a couple of times, it’s pretty much underwhelming. The BMW has a much better look overall. I don’t hate the GLE though. I do think the GLE is much classier, BMW much sportier. BMW wins for me but I am a fan of both.

just take a ride with both!!!!!!!!!!!! The feeling in the X5 is much better than in the GLE! If you are not that tall i also recommend the X5 cause its more easy to look outside from the cabine! I agree that the talegate in the X5 is uncomfortable for pets and if you open the lower part you are just much much to far from the boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously biased. I'm so happy I got The BMW X5. No matter how you look at these two, the BMW is more attractive.

Most older people prefer Mecerdes than BMW

Maybe if your bias you’re not the best to give side by side comparisons. BMW gives you a three year complimentary maintenances, Merc does not. I have owned 2 Merc’s, I am switching to the X5 next vehicle.

I think review should be objective, this sounds like a biased review highlighting Benz more than BMW.

That is until you compare the X5 Competition vs the AMG Merc SL 63. That Comp BMW X5 lays waste and smokes any untuned AMG Merc GLE 63. Period! 😳

I have driven many of both cars. X5 feels more dry and powerfull The merc is soft and seems to be a bit quieter. The merc is much nicer interior but it's very plastic'y. You guys should review a new kia sportage they are shockingly serious now within the suv market 😄 🤣 😂 I know... KIA.... when I got in one last week I nearly passed out with the quality and features. Good video 📹👍 👌 good review

I love GLE exterior but that handles in the middle of the arm rest area...that's not just ugly but it ruined the whole interior. Kia Telluride has similar handles but it integrated with the interior design so it doesn't bother but this handle for Mercedes, they need to change the design immediately, also four air vents under the screen, it look like a cheap quality toy train, very disappointed with the GLE interior, and it could be a deal breaker although I really LOVE the exterior.

The Mercedes’ GlE looks Sad , that light makes it look unwelcoming plus it’s too round and taillight looks like glc and the rest BMW X5 looks aggressive and will tells the car in front to move over, it looks strong agile and well balanced on the road, tail gate is awesome, fact it has the split is very good for your dog getting in, loading heavy items and sliding it in and can sit in it for picnics, it’s electric split as well which is really clever . Interior , minimalist but packed full of tech. Mercedes interior looks like an afterthought. They done the dash then remembered they need to put the infotainment, then slapped the long screen in the front. It does not look expensive the long line of flat glass over a vent. It looks like A class. Bmw again is better in looks and styling. It’s got adaptive dampers that makes you choose from comfort and sport, quipped with air suspension but still sportier and comfortable than the Mercedes’ .. I have test driven both and now gonna buy the bmw !!
