    I like the advice of planting at least 1 herb and 1 flower per bed. Definitely will incorporate that in my new beds.

    I companion plant by making my garden a food forest type setting. The trees use the top space. Bushes down below. Vines in between on trellises. Everything works together really good

    I love that you keep it simple... flowers herbs vegetables- easy to remember! I practice this type of planting in my own gardens, it makes it a beautiful space and also works very well!

    Great video!! I have been using oregano as ground cover to hold a large slope on the back side of our pool. We are in zone 8a NC so it’s living it’s best life and the pollinators love it!!

    What a great looking garden! Love the beneficials. Eating home grown or local has so many benefits. I used to have several beds but wanted to do something more organic or free-flowing in design.     Thanks for sharing all this helpful information. Your garden looks a lot like mine. I try to do the same thing. If you are ever unsure of what to plant with what, all you have to do is google it. When you do it will tell you if the plants in question are compatible with each other. What did we do before Google?😊😊😊😊😊

    I have learned so much from you. Thank you for your channel. grow in the high desert of Prescott Az. I find that corn does better for me in the ground. It didn’t do well here when I planted it in containers.

    Terrific video! (You might need more corn for good pollination; but it looks promising!). Like you, I like to add garlic here and there; it deters so many otherwise hungry pests with its strong smell. Onions, as well. And plenty of flowers - your garden is beautiful!

    Kale and lettuce both prefer cooler temperatures. As temps heat up pests are drawn to the plants as they finish their life cycle.

    I started using Mel's Square Foot Gardening back in the early 80's while living in Van Nuys, California with great success. I moved to Arizona in 1987 and have had some success but this year with this heat I am struggling to grow anything . I live in the Casa Grande, AZ area and the U of A Ag in Maricopa, Az is having a lot of Master Gardeners on August 26 at there facility and was wondering if you were going to be there?

    What do I do to keep the rabbits from eating all my plants?? I’m in Surprise Az and the rabbits killed my green peppers and my bean plants 😥

    When they are small the rabbits love them so you have to keep them safe. I put Solo cups around them (bottom cut out) so the can’t get to them. Once the plants Are bigger they thrive on their own.

    I keep loosing my squash to some kind of moth that lays its eggs at the base of my plants and killing them. Have you had this happen and do you have tips on how to stop this from happening? Would companion planting help? Thank you. I’m gardening in zone 8. ☺️

    my bet is your corn is NOT in a large enough patch (they say 10 x 10 feet ) i have not tried it here in Mesa BUT in California I could not get it to grow either I would concentrate on things I know will grow LIKE the Armenia cucumber (which you introduced me too ) Glenda
